A lockout or strike would be disastrous.....for me anyway.

If they have a lockout or strike how long would it take for ML$E to refund all of our season ticket money?

refund? what did you have for breakfast?

they'll 'safe keep' them and apply it to the season after lockout and ask us for the difference due to price jump :D

No refund, but season ticket holders would be allowed to use their tickets for free access to Marlies games.

Here's an idea for RPB TV. How will we all handle it, if a strike/lockout goes down.

In all seriousness, pls don't hurt yourself.

Don't do that, it's only a game.

Cheer yourself up, the World Cup will be a great competition this year!

It's a good article and it really nails the problem:

"My advice? Go to Garber with an olive branch and a warning. Say that you’re willing to swallow the centralized model for another two years, in exchange for a moderate raise. But warn that, after the 2011 season, all bets are off."

The centralized model is the problem, but, he follows that with:

"Right now, MLS has just three teams, the Los Angeles Galaxy, Toronto FC and Seattle Sounders FC, which have what we’d consider major profiles. Many of the rest struggle for fans. D.C. United could be on the list, but it doesn’t have a stadium."

Which makes it look like without a centralized model there would nly be three teams.

It's going to take some pretty incredible timing on the part of the union and MLS to make the move away from a centralized model and keep the league going. The successful teams are ambitious, which is good, and the league can't be controlled by the weakest teams.

It seems like everyone involved believes this wil someday be a big success but they can't agree on how to get it there.

the best thing about a lock-out is that it would give us all more time to ponder who might be our next great striker or what a yellow kit might look like.

In New York, the most important media market of all, the Red Bulls are, to quote Douglas Adams, mostly harmless.

Great line! The Sun article is a good one!

There are a lot of Irish in Toronto.

If TFC thinks they have problems with Bhoys disliking MoJo, they will have a lot worse on their hands if they bring in Henry. The pain is much more recent.

Le cheat at TFC! now that would be hard to adjust to, if not impossible. No thanks....I'd take Barrett over him.

But what would he do in the second game???

:D

Henry wouldn't score 30... cuz he'd get brutally attacked every game by shitty defenders... and teams would double team him and his crappy NYRB teammates wouldn't capitalize.
