..he tall, scores goals, and is Italian. Perfect replacement for our current legend.

But only if he plays like he did in 2006 for Fiorentina & 2007 for BM. If he plays like he did in the confed cup, then he can stay a free agent forever.

^ Luca Toni would destroy this league...anything less than 15 goals from him would be a huge disappointment...he should be a 20+ goal guy in this league.

Besides the rumour is Inter... as an inter fan I'm not sure I like that...

edit: I went on goal to look for the article I read the other day and found this instead!... looks like Liverpool is one of the rumoured now, they can have him.

A move to Liverpool makes sense for him at this point. For now we don't have a second DP spot so we can't invite him to play for us anyway - unless he's willing to take a MASSIVE paycut.

I honestly think Moe is about to run his last lap in TO.
If you look at his history, and what/where he has been, he is probably scoping other things out as we speak.
Trust me, he knows the gig is coming to an end.
He knew it from the beginning of last season.
I say he moves to Vegas 2011 and get's a job with the newly established Crew!

A fit Luca Toni would destroy MLS defenses, I would be amazed if he ended up in the MLS though especially when there are so many Premiership clubs that would still gladly take him. Arsenal are still looking for a striker and Toni at 32 if fit could do a job there, he would certainly add a bit of steel to the attack with perhaps Eduardo doing most of the running. West Ham would be interested also with Ashton retiring. There is a whole heap of mid table / lower table who would be interested as well as a whole heap of Italian. He may chose to go to an Italian club though as he knows it more, is a proven goal scorer there and he would perhaps have more chance of success there especially with the next world cup coming.

I was going to start a thread on this as a joke. But then there was a serious one. Nothing is impossible, but Luca Toni at TFC, is almost impossible.

He has already stated that he wishes to return to Italy, some Italian club will take him, the only other place that he may go is if someone in the EPL, Ancelotti or Manccini, most likely would ask him to go there. Otherwise he is comming back to Serie A.

Me too.

I have 6 soccer jerseys that have a player's name on the back, 4 say Toni. There is no player I'd rather see come to TFC.

That being said, there is no way in hell this happens.

Dynamo Moscow is also interested, they're willing to pay him 6.5 million euros a year.

I think this must mean that he's on such a huge contract, that no one will pay Bayern much or anything on top of what he's owed.

yeah, none of this confirms he's available on a free, just that Bayern might let him go as such, likely to get rid of his wages. That's pretty normal.

But it wouldn't be to us. THis whole thing is ridiculous. If people want to post "possible signings," do some research on free-transfer players who are actually in our ballpark.

Bayern Munich (http://www.goal.com/en-us/teams/germany/148/bayern) president Uli Hoeness has commented on German television that Italian striker Luca Toni (http://www.goal.com/en-us/people/italy/3005/luca-toni) can leave the club on a free transfer, to allow the Bundesliga giants to sever ties with the front-man.

Former Fiorentina forward Toni has been in dispute with coach Louis van Gaal for almost the entire campaign, and after the forward commented that he wanted to leave the club the Dutch disciplinarian made it clear that Toni would not feature for the club again.

Now Hoeness has stated on DSF Doppelpass that the player will be allowed to leave the club on a free in order to remove the striker from the wage bill.

He insisted, “If necessary, we will require no transfer fee [for Luca Toni]. We want to have peace on this issue. We still have no concrete offer, although we are willing to lend him on a free transfer or free.”

Goal.com Germany also comments that legend Karl-Heinz Rummenigge had offered his services as a mediator between club and player, to initiate discussions, but Van Gaal would not entertain the striker.

Toni will want to secure a move from the Allianz Arena as soon as possible in order to maintain his chances of being included in the Italy World Cup squad for next summer’s tournament in South Africa.

Even if he was available, he'd be looking to get first team minutes somewhere in Europe, so that he's selected for WC

Out of favour Bayern (http://www.goal.com/en/teams/germany/148/fc-bayern-munich-news) Munich (http://www.goal.com/en/teams/germany/148/fc-bayern-munich-news) striker Luca (http://www.goal.com/en/people/italy/3005/luca-toni) Toni (http://www.goal.com/en/people/italy/3005/luca-toni) is edging closer to a loan move to Roma (http://www.goal.com/en/teams/italy/7/roma-news) as his agent sets the ball in motion.

It's no secret Toni is set to leave the German side and return to the peninsula as his relationship with coach Louis Van Gaal shows no signs of being fixed.

Reports on Wednesday night claimed the Giallorossi were ready to take the striker until the end of the season with the option to make it a permanent deal for the next two years.

Toni's agent Tulio Tinti has spoken in relation to a possible Roma move, and he has confirmed it is a viable option.

"Roma are a big team and we will certainly consider them first if Toni returns to Italy," he told ForzaRoma.info.

"For now he is looking at a number of offers from around Europe, but we have not taken any decisions. We will decide in the first few days of January."
