Preki was not asked about the locker room problem but appeared to go out of his way to talk about it.

When Preki was asked if Nana is one of the building blocks, he quickly said yes, but went on to say..

"I don't like to single guys out, he's one of them, so are Dwayne and Julian, what we really need is for these guys to be part of a group and fight for each other"

Stadiums at heart of success in MLS: Venues built for soccer give clubs advantages

Dec 22, 2009 (Houston Chronicle - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Once considered a pipe dream, soccer-specific stadiums are popping up all over the U.S. soccer map, giving fans reason to hope that as the "world's game" continues to sink roots in a cramped domestic sports market, Major League Soccer will compete with the best leagues in Europe and South America.

The league, which next season will welcome the Philadelphia Union as its 16th team, will have nine such stadiums in 2010 and perhaps more by 2012.

"Having our teams move into soccer-specific stadiums has been one of our most important strategic initiatives for the league for the last 10 years," MLS president Mark Abbott said.

Interesting that Houston wants to follow our example in having a downtown stadium.

I think Preki believes in a team focus and hates to praise individuals since it takes away from the team. In Preki's hiring-day interview, Wileman was trying to get him to speak about individual players, and Preki would change the focus and talk about the team in general.

He is constantly talking about the system, not the players. Which means he's going to be molding a team, rather than trying to get as many talented individuals as possible and have them just run free like Wild Horses...

the stadium situation in Houston is a HUGE can of worms.
After all, the franchise is only in Houston because it left San Jose
when Houston promised to build them a stadium. AND houston is talking
about building the stadium in a very rough area as part of a 'revitalization project',
which can be a big hit, or a huge miss.

Of the 30 man squad, 25 players are from Major League Soccer.

Pic 7. SSG in seasonally required naughty Santa suit... but holding a garbage bag? what? .... handing out lumps of cat litter turds? :picard: [Edit she's reasonably cute though] [Edit again: my idea for a website is a collection of SSG poses that went horribly wrong, this would be one]

^ Yeah, I don't know what's up with that trash bag. If it's any consolation, this SSG can get away with it - she'd look hot in a burlap sack.:drool5:
