View Full Version : Who's in 104 ?

TOBOR !

This is the Front Lines people. These are the trenches.

There's no hiding in the bunker with 500 of your friends here. This is me and you, facing down the enemy just a few rows behind us.

They might feel safe knowing they are far from our main forces, but if we marshal our numbers and put them down where they stand - before they can settle - they won't stand a chance - we'll have them running to their buses and crying all the way home to Mommy.

Who's with me ?

you are in for a LONG season my friend.

i was in 104 last year... i ended up selling my tickets mid-season and moved elsewhere.

I am there. But it is horrible support wise.

TOBOR !

Screw that - I've spent the last three seasons in a combination of 224, 225, and 226. I relish the chance at unifying whatever activity there is in 104 and directing it either towards the field, or more specifically toward away support.

All ennui and apathy need to survive is for Red Patch Boys to do nothing.

Think about that, my friend.

Good on you Tobor, do not put stock in what the naysayers tell you. Get a few people together and get organized. Anything can happen, everything starts from nothing. And if all else fails, smuggle a few baboons into BMO and unleash them on the visiting support. Nothing, and I mean nothing trumps a baboon.

Names are of little import.

What's to be done here is that the fans who want to sing, chant, and cheer stay in 104 and do so - and build something - rather than sneak away in the night to be part of a larger group where they can feel safe. If things continue in this manner then this No Man's Land will continue to be lost to the indifferent and the away support.

We need to stay and we need to fight (sorry, a bit dramatic).

If there are any red-listers who get the opportunity to pick up something in 104 then you are encouraged to do so and help us take over, and build up this corner of BMO.

And if there are any out there thinking of moving seats closer to the SE corner - they don't need you, we do.

Go North(east) my friends. Go North(east).

just remember your support is only needed in the seated position.

The issues you will face are not with the fans, it is with security.

The second you stand - even if it's for a minute or two to try and coordinate song with people behind you, the security will be on you. Try it again, you will get kicked out.

TOBOR !
12-17-2009, 10:04 AM
No worries - other than moments of high drama there's only sitting allowed in 22x as well. Success is achieved by adapting to variable conditions.

Note to self : introduce myself to security, alert them that I may have a beer and I may sing a song. Encourage a relationship where we can all enjoy what we do.

Your heedings are well heard, but I am not deterred. We shall overcome.

etc.

I was in s104 r13 most of the last season, will be joining you in s104 next season.

security is a problem, but as soon as you get around 50 ppl up they can't really do anything. we had ok support for few games last year. it's all about taking baby-steps.

^ welcome - as the season approaches we'll no doubt have to ry ad co-ordinate ourselves. For now let's work on being motivated and coming up with some ideas.

As far as how it happens, I think it starts with everyone not fucking off to the south end whenever they get scowled at. And for those who have seats in 104 now to sit in them. Just imagine how much farther ahead we'd be now if the RPBs that were there in year one were still there, and instead of running for the hills they had put out a call for reinforcements ?

Yeoman : Now I see. :)

I meant in terms of seating arrangements. I wanna be in 104, but not to get whined at by some lady for not being in a proper seat.

RedRum
12-26-2009, 11:50 PM
Well, you most certainly will get whined at by some old lady for not being in your proper seat. However if enough people ignore said old lady, refuse to sit but instead stand and support for 90, the old lady will probably get fed up and re-locate somewhere else for next year - leaving the spot open for someone like you to move into next year. Like I said - turning 104 into a supporter section is not something that will be a handout from the FO. Seize it or concede it, there is no in-between.

My only advice to you is don't go to washroom at halftime. Ask those that attempted the same thing last year for details.

Nope. I mean security will grab you then and throw you out when you do. They did that a number of times this year. Person stands up in the first half, goes for a beer/piss/slice at half, gets nabbed by security and tossed.

Hey man, listen to brad he knows what's up. I spoke with FO last year telling them they turned what was becoming a good area into shit, and pretty much the deal is you break any rule at BMO security has carte blanche to give you the boot from the stadium. No warning, nothing. You break the rules, you are gone. If you are standing in a section that is not a supporters section, it's against the rules. Like brad mentioned and many people in 104/105/106 experienced, was that if you think you're just gonna tell security to beat it, there will be a bunch of them waiting for you when you leave your seat.

Just a head's up!!

Hey I agree - if I recall correctly you are in 125 - a section that from day one was pretty much everyone sitting.

By the end of season two, 104/05 had become mostly standing. Some of us remember the discussions last season and it's not black and white.

And from what Tobor and TFCtoMUFC has shown, it's going into season four and there are still some who don't know these rules. So I don't think it's sensible that if these guys decide to stand up and cheer on the team they should get thrown out on the first strike.

I'm standing, je ne care pas what security think. Top half of 104 is a standing section on the seating chart, so I'm going to stand.

BTW, I have a partial season's ticket in 104, row 19.

TOBOR !
12-31-2009, 05:17 PM
here's the crux of the issue... I get that standing in row 1, when everyone behind you wishes to sit, will be a problem. However, standing in row 19 when everyone from row 20 on back is travelling support and will likely be standing anyway shouldn't be.

I reckon that security will use common sense and allow standing should it originate from the back row on forward, but will clamp down on it if it starts towards the front.

As far as rules are concerned, they aren't going to be any different there than they are anywhere else (other than supporters sections). We just have to be smart and work within them. If the people behind you are standing, and also the people behind them, and security is allowing it, then I'd imagine it's okay to stand.

^ I think I'm in row 19 as well, but it could be 18... my HDD has some bad sectors :(

TOBOR !
04-30-2010, 08:39 AM
Something came up and I wasn't able to attend the home opener - not sure what security / standing was like, but for the Montreal game people were standing, sitting, chanting - whatever - and I never saw any of us get told to sit down / shut up. Now, that may solely be because all the attention was being directed to the back of the section (as in let's make sure we don't let anything happen between these groups). They even got an escort to the shitter.

Maybe 104/105 isn't that bad after all ?

Hey Tobor....I sat in section 104 last year and did the sit down chant/protest. About row 15 for the game against DC United. My brother and I started and encouraged everybody around us....even a few families joined in. The best action occurred when we responded to the visiting supporters' cheers. For example...DC united has this basic chant with a drum followed by a rest. "DEE CEE United...." We would fill in the blank and everyone followed. Some that I recall: Visitors- "DEE CEE United...." US- "Sucks" or "Baltimore's Bitch" and so on. We got more creative as the game wore on and were joined by enough people that the visiting supporters got rather pissed off. We based our chants on theirs....It was totally worth it! We stood up for short stints and as soon as the security would make a move we would just sit back down, before they even spoke a word.....they never said anything as they would see us sit and back off. Therefore, no official warning ....Besides they were having a laugh too. The DC United group tried to taunt back....but they were such rookies! Good luck in 104 and sorry, I am not there this year (made it to the promised land ....almost....Sec. 111 row 4).
Cheers!:drinking::scarf:
