I love reading articles like this... A while ago it was just a dream we all had...

I love the opening...

"...After withstanding three seasons of increasingly intense criticism from soccer players and fans alike, the artificial turf at BMO Field put up little resistance at the end. Its removal took just eight hours..."

That turf had no fight left in it... Thank god!

Carts...

It's great to see that BMO Field is being fitted with a world class grass pitch and heating/drainage system that will withstand the volatile weather in Toronto. It is clear that MLSE has spared no expense and I am looking forward to watching a higher standard of football next season...

Well that remains to be seen. But one can hope.

one question is the grass going to be laid down just where the turf was or throughout the whole ground...

that could be the new nickname...Field of Dreams

I think TFC (the organization) deserves a round of applause and congratulations for getting grass for the stadium. That is huge.

Exactly the same "footprint" as the turf. same concrete border.

Please tell me you're doing away with those incredibly dangerous rubber mats around the pitch though? Oh dear gawd I almost bust my head open a couple of times on those.

Paul:

Is there any word on dugouts for the player benches? The rain screens are a real pain in the neck from where i sit (123).

SSG pic #8, hilarious. She looks like she's falling down. We need a permanent thread of SSG poses that are just too stupid for words.

What I found that was even funnier is pic #9, 10....she has red marks dug in her legs from the "falling shot: of pic#8...she looks like a dirty...lol:drinking:

Nice,

Keeping the grass same size as turf, will keep the Argos away too,I don't know why, but now I like that concrete surrounding the grass pitch. :D

This is exactly what I was thinking. Retaining the concrete perimeter pretty much limits the playing surface of BMO to the existing 115 yards, making it even more difficult for the Argos to squeeze onto that field.

I read the Star article this afternoon and it has me really excited about the grass coming in!

I knew there would be a heating system, but I didn't know about the system to drain water.

Will the pitch stay the same size?
