Where, anywhere in that story does it say that Johnston is going to double this guys salary?

Mo isn't even quoted in the story. They paraphrase one comment (but again, it isn't a quote) that says ... The Kilmarnock captain is out of contract at the end of the season and has been identified by Johnston as a player who could make a big impact in North America.
