Why? What would one do with a small square of fake grass?

Hang it on my wall and tell my kids this is what Toronto played on before we started winning all those championships.

I'd put money on them selling squares - they did that for the closing of the Gardens - they sold little squares of the boards - hey they even sold the ice shavings from the Zamboni and seats - anything for money - Hey if the proceeds go to building North Stands - I say go for it!

sorry but the CSA needs to step up and go to the federal government to pressure Toronto into not allowing this

the CSA needs to say something...sheesh this is the NATIONAL STADIUM OF CANADA!

Darlofletch
11-28-2009, 01:23 AM
posted this in the main thread, but it follows on very nicely from the above post....

"Yes, this stadium was buily largely with taxpayer money, and those taxpayers, through their elected representatives in different governments, decided that that money be spent on a NATIONAL SOCCER stadium.

Now some football fans and a privately owned team, want to come in and trample all over the wishes of Torontonian, Ontarian, and Canadian taxpayers by drastically changing what is a very good soccer stadium and, with the addition of a grass field, a genuine home for Canada's national teams.

Surely nothing could further cement the image of "selfish arrogant Toronto" in the eyes of the rest of the province and country, than having the NATIONAL SOCCER stadium they built with their own money, radically altered for the worse for the sake of a privately owned, Toronto based football team. Taxpayers surely wouldn't stand for that sort of thing."

We all know how the feds sticking it to Toronto plays very well in the rest of the country, let's get the federal government involved, fending off the toronto based team to maintain the integrity of a national stadium? harper would love that shit.

You don't grow the grass here - you grow it down south and then bring the turf here.

I can't believe im saying this but thankyou ML$E for the hard work you have done to get this done.. Our development as a city as supporters and as a serious club is very much appreciated.
