Plenty of opportunity to hang with fellow fans. This is a great opportunity to hang with the players. What's wrong with wanting to speak with the players you watch week-in and week-out to see what they're like and what they like. Personally I think this is a pretty rare opportunity in sports these days...

Each player has to put in a certain number of public appearances as dictated by the team. It's part of their contract. In the first and second seasons, the players who showed up were ones that were often chosen because they enjoyed the experience of interacting with the fans, and getting to have a drink on "company time". :)

Those 3 are regulars on the fan-meet circuit. Gomez and Sanyang are not too talkative, but Wynne enjoys a corona or so and get's quit chatty. I have not been to one that they were not at.

there is nothing random about the Jack astors bar crawls. Jack astors is no pub. there at the same place every year Downtown Toronto ,Richmond Hill, Scarborough, Mississauga the only new place was Burlington.

Did anyone else have a problem with $9 pints?????!!!!! How about a $27 pitcher of beer?????!!!!!

I was at Jack Astors once during the season after a game to meet the players. That day it was Wynne, Frei, Dichio was there briefly, Cummins was there.....I sure don't remember paying $9 for a pint.

It really spoils the atmosphere when you feel you are being robbed for the chance to meet a couple of players. It sounds all friendly and nice calling it a "pub crawl", but then you are taken advantage of for showing up.

I'll never go to another "pub crawl" or Jack Astors again. Disgusting.

$9 pints? $27 pitchers? Are you sure? I've been to the Jack Astor's near the ACC, and some of the suburban ones and their beer prices were similar to all the other generic restaurants. Is there some kind of entertainment district premium at the John St. location?

But due to Ontario Liquor laws, bars aren't really allowed to do that.

I've been to a few of the previous pub crawls and never paid a premium for beer.

I was drinking Kronenbourg at $9 a pint + tip. $7 i could have handled but $9 i thought was a bit much, but whatever. I'm not going to complain too hard. I'm not a beer supporter. :D

Sorry, I know this forum is a beacon of positivity:rolleyes:

I'm not saying it was TFC's fault that the prices were high. I was just shocked by how high they were. In my opinion that puts a serious damper on things when you feel like your being completely ripped off.

Not blaming TFC, just not ever going to another pub crawl.

I'm not including tip. I'm also talking about Carlsberg. You can be as frank as you like, but if you're trying to convince me $9 is a reasonable price for a pint of Guiness including tip, you're nuts.

I was just amused that Always There was being supported by Get In There.

Unfortunately, a pint of Guiness is often $7. Add 15% tax, add a buck tip, $9. I'm not saying it's reasonable, but some places do charge that much for Guiness. But Carlsberg? I like the stuff, but I only drink it in a bar if it's $5 for a tallboy.
