looks like it's put together by the Austrians that own the main company, Red Bull. they own a few teams in Europe in addition to the NY team.

i think TFC should focus on getting the academy up to the highest level in Canada first.

Yes we should - but i don't think BMO is going to start an academy in Africa anytime soon :)

I could see MLSE gaining interest in this sort of thing, eventually. The profits being generated by TFC at the moment - though I'm sure they're happy with them - aren't huge. Leagues the size of MLS elsewhere in the world thrive on player exports. Identifying, signing, training, and eventually selling promising young players would be a huge, huge source of income for the team, at least theoretically. Obviously there are unique MLS rules meaning that individual clubs don't even keep all the money from their own player sales, but they do keep some.
