A total TFC /MLS channel with all TFC games, friendlies etc and all possible mls games from other markets, would you be willing to pay for a channel like this...We all know the current TFC broadcasters are not soccer, tfc,mls friendly and the team/league deserve better:canada:
I would be willing to see TFC covered better....anyone else!!!

I think CBC and Sportsnet have been pretty soccer friendly, especially CBC so why change them. But I'd probably pay something to get rid of the Score.

I dont support it, but if that was the only way to watch, i would buy it.

I already pay enough for home games to cover any cost to watch away games on TV.

move it away from the regular broadcasters i think would be suicide for the league in canada..
the sport must persist on normal channels for the good of everyone.. 1 channel zero exposure .. many channels and you will reach the masses.
maybe once the team has really settled and gained ground in the canadian market would a move like this work ..eighterwise you will make a midget stay a midget.. (no offense to little people)

As long as away games were covered in high quality using Toronto/Canadian based commentators...

I think that home games should continue to be on CBC etc...

This would give a balance for high quality away game coverage and mass availability of the home games which already get pretty good coverage.

I put down yes, but I want to qualify it. I would pay for it only after TFC becomes huge. At the moment, I think it doesn't make good business sense to limit your audience. And it would need to partner with a broader soccer channel...say for example with GolTV or Fox Sports to provide 24/7 footy. Otherwise, it doesn't make sense.

I agree with gtaguy...

I see no logical reason to have a pay channel for TFC.
Making them less accessible to the general pop is not going to help spread the enthusiasm of soccer in Canada.

this same poll was on the last RPB forum... and I will point out the error that was made in that one and again in this one.
... the options should be:

1. I would pay for TFC TV if it were the sole broadcaster for Toronto soccer.
2. I would prefer TFC stayed on regular cable television.

or something like that....

the only way this could work is if MLSE pulled a rogers and bought a network like sportsnet, then they could make a lot of money... if they went subscriptions like raptors tv or leafs tv, i agree w/ flatpicker it'd kill the league here.

That said if they do it down the road, like hell i'd pay, i'll just use sopcast

No. Keep TFC on basic cable.

TheScore is only good for Basketball and EPL/Football factory documentaries. They don't seem to take TFC/MLS/Canadian soccer seriously like CBC and Sportsnet.

I voted 'No', but that's because I don't want to give MLSE any ideas. TFC is still a new entity, and we need to give it as much public exposure as we can right now. If MLSE moves games to a specialty channel that people have to pay extra for, then TFC's ratings will drop and the team will receive little in the way of exposure outside of BMO Field.

It's sorta tempting to have all home and away games televised on one channel, in addition to soccer-specific shows as well. That said, I'd much rather see CBC pick up exclusivity rights instead of a dedicated channel. Obviously there are pros and cons for both arguments, but I say that TFC is still in a position where they need to seel the sport in some respects, and the best way to do that is thru regular cable television.

Sounds good but how about a CANADIAN soccer channel TFC,Whitecaps,Impact and other regional leagues to Help Grow the Game!
Honestly there is not enough material for TFC (only) TV.

This. If I could get info on the Whitecaps/Impact, the CSL/PCSL, the National Team, and the provincial leagues, I would consider it, because it'd be throwing a spotlight on all the utterly retarded shit that happens to the world of Canadian soccer.

But seriously we've been around for 1.5 seasons, how the hell are you supposed to fill a channel with that, considering that Leafs TV sucks balls and they've been around since the dinosaurs.

^ Now that you've mentioned it It would be a pretty cool idea to have a channel covering Canadian soccer in it's entirety. And like you said, with that sort of exposure, it might force the CSA to actually try and operate like a responsible organistion.

For TFC games? Hell no. I might be convinced to pay a small amount for access to all other MLS games though (I'm getting sick of watching them on a laptop). Oh, but they'd have to be in HD.

agreed.

Just watch though, I bet you are going to see it added to leafs TV if it happens. There was a report a while ago that they were considering going to the CRTC to request some changes and TFC programming came up as they have nothing during the summer. Didn't hear anything about the story after that so it may have died a quiet death.

And if someone from MLSE is reading this... No way will I buy it.

nope...Just like I wont buy the Leafs channel.

I have season tickets, I go to every home game. It would be cheaper for me to just go to the pub every away game and watch it there for the cost of a pint or two.

its because of CBC that fox world canada no longers shows MLS games,

people can defend the CBC ,thatst fine but they can just go jump in the lake...let FSWC show there game of the week like they used to, cbc isn't bothering to highlight the MLS other then TFC games so a TFC channel would be good.

I voted yes for the same reason. IF TFC were huge I would love to have a channel dedicated to it. At this time however we are nowhere close to that level. We would need MLS to become much bigger, and we would need them to produce more unique content to fill in the gaps. If MLS were to start there own station such as NBA, NFL and NHL do, maybe we could start a Canadian version with TFC specific content shown more frequently.

Agreed ... I thought it was the first online TFC TV question, but if you're talking about a full out broadcast and cover every game, commentary, etc. I'd pay for it. I have already paid for MLS.TV online to watch games during weekend conferences at hotels and away games that I couldn't pick up on TV.

nO o meant a real channel covering TFC,MLS, not the internet stuff..

we really need to get away from the crappy braodcasting corporation,

sportsnet would be better if they gave TFC a higher priority, and with out doubt can the score while we at it...

Based on the quality of mlse channels such as leafs tv and raptors tv, my answer is definitely NO. That said, I would like to see CBC and Sportsnet broadcast TFC matches from a higher vantage point in the stadiums...
