Since Mo trade away are first around draft pick do you think he may try and obtain another would be nice to get pick.

Depends if there is a player in the draft that Mo is interested in.

People keep saying this... I thought because of appearances we only technically traded our SECOND round pick. Someone care to correct and/or back me up on this one with actual facts? LOL

Any pick we have/traded away for the first round is depressingly high. I was hoping for a much lower first round pick this draft. :(

I think it will depend on Teal Bunbury, if he come out Mo will want to get hishands on him. I also heard there was another Canadian that was highly rated.

Just discussed this a few days ago. When did Mo trade away the 1st round draft pick?

For Ibrahim, he traded a conditional 1st round pick. Dallas would have gotten the first round pick if Ibbe had played more than 10 MLS games this season. He only played 6, so TFC loses a 2nd-round pick to Dallas instead.

Was there another transaction that affected 1st round picks? However, since that conditional trade didn't happen, that 1st pick must still belong to TFC. You can't trade the same draft pick twice! (For example, once conditionally, and once definitely.) Link: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=546607&cc=5901

We still gave it to Dallas for Serioux which might explain exactly why we were unable to play Ibby because if we did then we'd be giving up a pick we didn't even have.

^^^ Do you have something showing that? I still have yet to see anything proving that we don't have a 1st round pick this year...

I could be wrong, I just haven't seen anything to persuade me otherwise.

Here is the CBC report about the trade.

Ouch...

In exchange for Serioux, Dallas receives Toronto's first-round pick in the 2010 Major League Soccer draft and an undisclosed amount of allocation money.

Fair enough... so we don't have a first OR second round pick then? Brutal.

Our first pick is #24 in the second round, received from Colorado for the rights to Richardson.

I'm sure I remember hearing something about this during a game broadcast. Fuad Ibrahim needed to play a certain amount of games to cost us the first round pick and that didn't happen.

If you go to the draft order blog, Toronto had already traded a conditional first round pick in 2010 to Chivas for Guevara. Hmmmmmm..........

This comes from the trade in 2008.

Wow, that SUCKS! Thanks for this info, as bad as it is. Isn't it VERY strange that the league let Mo make a trade (Serioux) in return for a draft pick that he had conditionally already traded away earlier? Plus, I don't get the Chivas/Guevara situation.

Seems like Mo was really selling the silverware & hoping to make the playoffs this year. See how that worked out... On the other hand, I wouldn't be surprised to see some kind of movement in that list before the draft comes. Perhaps someone like Guevara, Robinson, etc. getting moved in return for a different player & a draft pick.

There's still no solid proof that MoJo traded a conditional first rounder for Guevara (either that or it was based on getting in the playoffs, or Guevara being the MVP) because all we have is "undisclosed picks in 2009 and 2010".

Is anyone really sure what we traded for Guevara? I ask because there's no way MLS would let Mo trade picks he'd already traded away although he was able to trade a pick he had conditionally given to Dallas and just make sure the conditions weren't met.

Edit: According to this http://www.redpatchboys.ca/forums/showthread.php?t=4655
we may not have a pickuntil the forth round as we owe Dallas our 1st and 2nd (Serioux and Ibby, respectively), we received a 2nd from Colorado, we owe a 2nd or 3rd to Chivas from the Guevara thing, we owe San Jose a 3rd for Garcia/Gerba rights. So unless Mo starts writing a ton of IOUs then we may be looking at a boring draft for us.
