I find it strange that on the main page of the mlsnet.com site, they don't post the aggregate score beside the fixtures.
You would think that is something people might like to check at a glance when they are looking at the schedule.

If Mo is able to bring Nicol to Toronto it would do WONDERS for his approval rating. And let's be honest, the support for Mo is at an all time low right now. Also, it would be the turning point for me personally from being negative about TFC to being positive, optimistic, and excited about the new season. I think many feel the same way.

Let's get it done!

This will be an interesting match up between the Fire and RSL. I'm wondering if Real can do what NYRB did last year and win the conference that they don't even play in.

I don't see it happening, after Mo declared that whoever came in would have to accept the current platoon of assistant coaches. A sucessful coach like Nicol would likely want to put his own stamp on the organization, and bring in people he knows and trusts.

It's actually pretty amazing, when you think about it - after two seasons of mediocrity partially caused by inadequate and inexperienced coaching, Mo has decided to limit his hiring options to only people who will accept the rest of our management team.

And guess which subgroup of coaches are the most likely to accept such ridiculous limitations? Young and inexperienced ones, who just want a head coaching gig!

I'll wait to evaluate who MoJo ends up bringing in, but at this point, he's lost my support as a fan. I wanted him to take the right tack in going out and finding a coach with a wealth of experience, and a pedigree of success. Instead, he goes out and proclaims that we only want coaches from this league, and only if they will let their staff essentially be chosen for them. What an idiot.

Sigi Schmidt has two coaches (assistant, goalkeeper) that management kept around from the USL Sounders.

Mo didn't say the new coach couldn't add to the coaching staff; he said he wanted to keep guys like Dasovic on staff. The Raptors have done exactly the same thing over the years with Jay Triano.

Sigi Schmidt added a couple guys (his own son.. and Ezra Hendrickson)

So saying to Nicol "look, we want you to keep Daso but feel free to bring in some of your own guys" would solve the problem and have it the same situation as Seattle.

Nicol would have to add an assistant anyways since Cummins is gone. But Paul Mariner is gone to England, so Nicol doesn't have a sidekick to bring in at this point.

I don't think anything is set in stone right now at this moment. Mo may be willing to let some people go (read: buying them out) if Nicol is an option for TFC. Also, if we go to Nicol and slaps down double his NER salary even Nicol might be willing to bend his own principles a bit as well.

on this is football, Mo said He'd let the new guy bring in an assistant, but that he'd then also have to keep Dasovic, Dichio, Winsper and toshack.

That is what I heard too. What successful coach is going to want that?
