Frei is the only TFC player to be nominated for anything.

And unfortunately I think Gonzalez might take it. And I may have to agree. Frei simply did not impress me as much as he impressed others.

i'd hate if it goes to a bullshit online vote. i know it won't but the idea of it would make a rookie of the year award a joke.

it just becomes a supporters vs supporters dealie.

They don't do it for the all-star (the fan vote counts for very little even for that meaningless event) I doubt they'd do it for this.

Cronin made a great impression and will have great things to come, but I'd say Frei deserves it. He stepped up in big ways for TFC this year. Given the ever-changing and unstable at times backline, he did damn well I'd say. Solid goalkeepers are hard to come by these days, let alone a rookie one. Imagine what he could do with a strong and defined backline.

Frei was good, but Frei was good but raw, Cronin impressed me much more, a much more developed player.

i actually just went "BWAHAHAHAA!!" at my desk and scared the hell outtve my corworker.

personally, i don't believe frei is as overated as people have him made out to be. he made a few rookie mistakes that people pounced all over him for, they just happened to be at times when we really needed the points. give him a couple of years and he'll surprise you, OR we'll trade him and he'll pull a cunningham. either or.
