Media is really going after MO. Lets see how he does in the press conference this morning, but we all know he will skate around the questions. I just hope that all these media/reporters/bloggers ask the tough questions, that we supporters deserve.

I don't think that is an insane theory. John Molinaro posted elsewhere at 10pm last night that "he wouldn't be surprised if Cummins were still coach today". Which is seriously weird given all that's gone on, so Cummins is still employed, but....he's not invited to this thing?

I mean, why is it "Mo and some players" for this press conference. The players are coming as a show of support to Mo, I guess, which means....what?

It could easily just be Mo firing Cummins today. I know that. That's the obvious scenario. But who brings players to a press conference when you are firing a coach?

It does make one wonder.

Mo will be bring players that he feels will not voice there concerns. Would be pretty funny to see Gabe Gala and Fuad Ibrahim at the conference with Mo and Cummins

If the players are dragged to support Mo this will be the biggest Farce in TFC History... another record set!

In the Dobson article "Rotten to the Core" (link not working btw) He says that the new coach search has been on for awhile already with one current MLS coach already refusing the role.

I'm hoping against hope a reporter has the balls to call for Mo's head today but I will not hold my breath.

I wish I could be there to do it.

Ideally, the opening will go something like this:

Reporter: "So Mo, when will you be tendering your resignation?"
Mo: "I'm naht tah surre what tyu mean."
Reporter: "Well, it's the end of the third year, the team just endured it's worse match in history at the most critical time in history, it's clear that the team you've assembled doesn't work and that the culture needs to change."
Mo: "Listen, ahh...it's been ah difficoult seeasohn but we've made prahgrress. We've brought in Jyuulian ahnd Derro ahnd we'rre getting grahss next yearr."
Reporter: "Yes, but the team still hasn't made the playoffs yet. Who's responsibility is that?".
Mo: Uhhhh...

Mo will either be forced to throw Cummins under the bus, thereby exposing what a rat he is, or admit that he's no good and hopefully resign.

In our dreams, right?

Did he say anything about what's being offered?

This ownership should be able to make a long-term, big money offer, but they won't. Not for a coach or a GM.

Lots of people will refuse to work for MLSE.

It is being implied more so than the MLSE thing, that noone will want to work under Mo knowing they won't have control.

*Sorry, being implied by Kristian Jack and Gareth Wheeler and the footy show boys.

Okay sure, but there's a lengthy history of futility and medling with MLSE and lots of people turned down the Leafs job over the years, and good people were forced out (and who was the first choice for TFC?).

But it's good for MLSE to have people concentrate on middle mangement, that's something they've played very well in this city for years and years.

It will be interesting to see what kind of coach we get if Mo is staying as it most definately looks like he is staying. It will be a coach who is more concerned with the paycheck than being concerned with having to work under Mo. Moreover, any coach who's number one priority is making sure they have full control will not be applying for the position. We had an assistant coach here our first year in the league, Bob Gansler a former US national team head coach and the former Kansas City head coach who led the Wizards to a MLS Cup championship who left after that first season. Imagine that we had a coach with those credentials and we let him go, or more accurately left on his own knowing full well what a nightmare it was working with Mo.

Are you sure that was the reason. He had known Mo for many years before he came here, didn't he? Wasn't Mo on that Wizards team?

the "working under" is likely a big issue. Everyone involved with this team works "under" the ownership.

Mo is getting what he deserves.

Pretty low expectations were set for year 3. Incredibly MLSE accepted these very low expectations (win the VC, get into the playoffs). Even more incredibly, Mo failed to make these pretty low goals. So he deserves the hot-seat.

Well if you want the truth on why Gansler left, a good source would be a former goalie coach in TFC's first season who also left when Gansler left, this former goalie coach can be found coaching ( head coach mens) up at York University these days, I'm sure he can tell you a thing or two about the Gansler Mo relationship in year one.

Is that really incredible, though? Isn't it business as usual? Like most organizations, this one succeeds to the point of expectations. Is there any reason to believe the next guy running the team will have any higher expectations to meet?

USA today headline.. Toronto FC fires interim coach Cummins

bang on...Gansler left town VERY bitter about the experience here in Toronto. His supposed friend and former player led him to believe that he would be in charge of the on field product on a day to day basis, regardless of the assistant coach tag (what a joke, if you think about it, to have Gansler assisting Mo...ridiculous). When it was clear that Mo wasn't interested in sharing the spotlight with Bob, the veteran coach left town.
