just passing along the word from my ticket rep:

The seat relocation dates have 100% been moved back from next week.
There will be an official email going to season seat holders very soon.

If TFC makes the playoffs (fingers crossed) they'll be too busy with that
to do the seat relocation dates. So yeah.... there you have it.

Or they are delaying in order to make North Stand seats available..

^ Nah, we'd have heard something about that. You can't make it a SG stand and not tell the SG's about it first, and I think that's seriously being considered. Plus I think they'll need city approval first since the stadium is half owned by them, and that means there will be a vote somewhere to approve it first, no? Just a hunch though.

I would be willing to bet, if Toronto make the playoffs, they will put that temporary North Stand up for single ticket sales.

As for a SG stand...
I think this is still a possibility, once they make a decision on a permanent North Stand, in a year perhaps.

its a combination of us not properly planning for all the work required to sell out a game if we clinch on a sunday and have to play on the following Saturday...

All the Lamport field bookings move down to BMO while Lamport goes under construction...oops kinda didnt plan for that.

Work? Anyone with season tickets that doesn't take the play off game and agree to have their account debited accordingly gets shot. The rest sell at the box office but only to people who have at least one piece of TFC merch from season one AND can sing at least two chants.

On a side note......as a parent it will suck big time if the game is on Halloween. Yes, I will be there but it will cost me BIG TIME. (No comments required from non parents and single people on this....just an observation.)

4. Relocation Event:
Since there is a considerable amount of work to do in a very small amount of time we will be postponing the relocation event to the second week of November (Nov 9-12). Specific details on this event will be sent to you in the coming weeks.
It may seem that we are getting ahead of ourselves (i.e. counting the chickens…) but we want to ensure that this process goes as smoothly as possible should we qualify for the playoffs this weekend!

Depends. If they keep the money as "store credit" for future season ticket purchases then he's right on the money about MLSE keeping the money - as laughable and outrageously wrong as it seems. Hopefully mlsintoronto can dispel this fear in not just me, but others I've spoken to about this very topic.

I didn't pay in full and put only the 20% deposit because (1) I couldn't afford the whole thing at once and (2) because I am hoping for a cheaper pair of seats so in the end, they can just reduce my next two payments.

If you paid in full then I really can't see them keeping the money and giving you credit for it unless there is some fine print somewhere but I doubt it. You would definitely have something to bitch about though for many years. Let us know how it goes.

They won't want to do it now while people are pissed off. They'll wait until the anger dies down, or until just after a piece of good news (hey we pushed it back because we thought the playoffs would have been the good news, but instead we got you Steve Nicol, next years going to be great, you want additional tickets don't you?)

Seriously though, are they waiting for their chosen coach to get knocked out of the playoffs before they get this going? I'm on the gold list, It'd be nice to get something sorted out before christmas.

I'm in the exact same boat!

I'm planning to make a big change in my season seats from going to some really expensive to the cheapest I can find. I wanted to get this done so my next two payments are much cheaper also, infact I think the 20% I put down on the first payment should almost cover the charges for my new set of tickets.

So here is my question...... If I get hit with another 20% for my expensive seats this month then I will probably be owed money by MLSE when I end up going to the re-location, when that all happens will TFC refund me the money they owe me now, or will it be put towards credit. I don't want no damn credit, the entire point to all this was to save money now!!!!!

ideas?

Does anyone have any idea on when the seat relocation frenzy will end and Gold listers get a crack?

I was on the Gold List and upgraded last year to a SSH. Be prepared to buy in at the higher priced seats as that may all that is available.

How quickly you move up depends on the renewal rate and then how many people in front of you buy or pass when it's their chance.

short answer for your lazy/busy self -- there's not going to be a new north stand to start the next season, so they aren't going to relocate to somewhere that doesn't exist.

If they opened up the North side now, there would be a mass exodus to the lower priced seats....and they might be stuck with finding buyers to the higher ends...they are not stupid.

My guess they have the North stand ready very early next season..create the open capacity and get people in those seats to expand their potential client base for a whole year. And only allow STH to buy in the following season...that way...you would have de-risked this change a bit vs. opening up 2000 lower end seats day 1.

My guess would be that this is correct.

My guess would be closer to 90% which is what i've heard from someone inside. 96% sounds very high considering i know more than a few who did not renew their extras in higher priced seats.

Anyone have an appointment last year on the final day of relocation? Wondering what the seat availability was like on that day. Dark grey and Reds I imagine but just wondering if someone was there last year at that time could confirm. I just got my seasons last year so my appointment is Thursday at 3PM. I figure I will only have an opportunity to change location of my current Dark Grey seats to other Dark Grey seats.

From year one I originally split the costs of my season seats with my brother-in-law. I believe it was last season he had transfered a set into my name....So he had one of the first appointments and I had one of the later appointments due to the seat transfer.

Last season when I went, there were lots of seats left in 127 and a good amount in other sections other than the expensive seats. It really depends on what people do in front of you.

I think that's the issue here.

Did they renew 96% of actual seats? - Probably not.
Did 96% of SSH keep at least one seat, thus being a 'renewal'? - Probably yes.

Obviously the 16,000 seats are not held by 16,000 people. the number is probably like 1/3 or 1/4 of that.

Good call man.

I was naive enough to think that I would be able to check out the first few games of the 2007 season and still be able to get in on seasons if I wanted so I never really rushed to buy any initially. As soon as I went to the first game and loved it I knew I wanted to get them. Signed up for the waiting list on the morning it came out and just got my seasons this past year. Now I have the job of trying to improve with the relocation event for the next numbers of years to get into a situation like you where I love my seats. Hopefully one day...

I think so... If you're on the waiting list, the prawn seats are you "price of admission" to become a season ticket holder...

I have prawnie seats, and like having them - but if I was on the waiting list without seasons, and my name was called to get dark greys, I'd jump at the chance, become a SSH and work on moving if I wanted to each year...

Question: if you successfully relocate from seat A to seat B, how does payment work? Do they want full payment of seat B on the day of relocation - OR do they simply put the money you've paid (I've paid one installment on my seat A) towards seat B - and continue the 3-part payment-plan as normal (except with the new price of course)?

I tried calling TFC about this, but I guess all employees are outside helping the relocation process.

Got some questions. I have never done the relocation before, how does it work from the time you get in? Are you assigned a TFC rep to walk around with you or something? I am assuming that there are many people in each 30 min timeslot so how do they keep it from becoming a mess? or maybe they don't?

You get in.....and all the available seats are marked. You stake your claim on seats and pull the markers off the seats.......if 2 or more people want the same seats in a session, I believe it goes to the individual with more seniority. Bring the seat tabs you chose into the waiting area and the reps will process your new seats. I believe this is the process.

Dichio and some of the training staff were on the field, running around.
I'm standing in 112, and they run by and Dichio yells "Hi Parky" at me.
I reply "Hi Danny" and stugatzo makes some wise ass comment, like usual.

I had soup for lunch.

Good stuff. Makes sense - but just wanted to be safe. So I guess no payment is made on relocation day.

I believe so, didn't see anyone handing out credit cards. I had mine out ready to pay and buddy didn't ask for it.

Thanks for the info. So you basically have to wait until the end of the 30 min session then to see if someone who has seniority is going to grab the ones you picked already I guess going by that description? That would suck. I thought it would be first come, first serve during that 30 min. I have seen some people at the game and I know I can outrun them. Others, maybe not. Can you cut diagonally across the field?:D

Don't quote me on that...but I think this is how they would resolve 2 people wanting the same seat in a session. They will give you a complete briefing when you get to the field prior to your appointment. So get there early enough and you can ask the reps questions to know for sure.

I can hold the door open so it doesn't hit anyone's ass on the way out.

When did we get a door??

Got some questions. I have never done the relocation before, how does it work from the time you get in? Are you assigned a TFC rep to walk around with you or something? I am assuming that there are many people in each 30 min timeslot so how do they keep it from becoming a mess? or maybe they don't?

At the gate you're greeted by a nice lady who will look up your name and give you a card with your account number and priority ranking. You go into the beer garden suite and eat chips with about 20 people while one of the reps explains the process. When you are let loose, you can wander the stadium and choose the seats you want, and after the time is up, you take the cards off the seats and go back to the suite. You're on your own in the stadium, so as long as you aren't taking a poop at mid-field, they leave you alone.

If there are two people who want the same seats, then the person with the better priority (based on original ticket purchase date) will get them. When you're getting the change processed, you can pay for the seats right there if you like, or they will simply adjust your account and proceed as you were before (payment plan, etc).

I was at the 1:30 time slot and was able to trade my two singles in 111 for a pair in 119, row 10 on the aisle, which makes me very happy.

I counted about 25 seats in 127 including 9 in a row, which was not touched at all when I was there. I also saw six in a row in 117 along with a few pairs through the southend.

During your 30 minute session, the first 10 min or so in what they called your window shopping time, about the 10 min mark, the horn went off, which meant you could pull the paper off the seats and proceed to the table to process the relocation, if you had not decided by then, you had the rest of the 30 minute period to wander before the horn went off again to signal the end.

The soccer associations are bailing on 127 :)

fixed your post. the reason there were almost 2 full rows towards the back were because those seats were owned by some soccer associations.

nice try though :picard:

Where are the seats marked? On a board somewhere or on the actual seat? If so then I guess you have to run around like a maniac trying to see what is available?

Process sounds efficient enough. If they are training there then obviously the turf is still there? Did anyone see how 110 looked? was there much in the lower half, say row 10 and lower?

Actually, a lot of people here are bailing out on 127 though you are correct about the top 3 rows.

it is still there, and will be there until Lamport is done it's construction process (because the games that were moved from Lamport are being done at BMO, until the bubble is up)

Is there a logical explanation for the mass exodus from 127?

I moved because I wanted to be closer to my other two seats in 111.

Keeping my single in 225 Row 2, but moved my 220 nosebleeds for a pair low down in 111, row 10!
Me and Parky have agreed we will be doing the massive in the south end at least once next season!
There were about 600 seats available. Some in the Club, and some in almost every section.
Welcome to 111 !...as a "row 12" SSH for 3 years now, I can say that we have a pretty good group in our area for the most part (despite some who would comment otherwise)...always good to add someone with a strong voice and a positive attitude...look forward to your contribution next year !..

If you can get into the South it is simply price.....cheaper seats will always be sought out by most.

it's not that 'mass' as it might sound.

lots of people are moving... just because they can.
Some people are moving for a better view, or cheaper tickets in the south, or whatever reasons.

I don't see it as a 'mass exodus'.

So far I haven't seen any posts from anyone moving out of 127 that actually put any effort into supporting the team. 127 is not a frat house. Plain & simple.

I for one am happy will all the people moving out of 127... the people moving out of 127 are people who didn't want to be in there in the first place or wanted to be elsewhere more, and are not NEE members. More people going where they really want to be, and hopefully freeing up spots for NEE members to come home is great, as I believe it will lead to a stronger NEE next season. Hopefully, the same will happen with your members getting closer to your base of support...
