Normally I wouldn't make a post for a single blog entry, but this is interesting...

The MLS standings if gams were only 75 minutes long. (http://www.24thminute.com/2009/10/tfc-always-playing-full-75-minutes.html)

If the games ended at the 75th minute mark we would have just thrown everything away at the 50 minute mark instead. It's not about minutes, it's about our team pulling back and bunkering down 15 minutes before the end of every fucking game where we have a slim lead.

^ Now that's an uplifting post (!), but sadly it's probably true... :(

If we always throw it away in the last 15 minutes, we'd do so at the 60 minute mark, not 50. Your point still stands, though.

Tfc sit back and allow the attack to come in the last 15 min. This will happen regardless of the length of the games.

Yes, 60 of course.

This thread and the blog post are both useless.
Sorry Sweet, but what's the point of this?
I mean if the game did actually end at 75 min then the opposing teams would just press 15 minutes earlier. Its strategy to press hard for the last bit of game when you need a goal - and that's what the teams were doing.
In light of this, what would be the title of this thread?
What if games ended at 60 min??!!!

If games ended at 75 minutes, we'd blow it in the 74th minute.

Yes. Pointless to try and find a pattern in shortcomings in hopes to correct them. Like useless negative posts...

Anyway, While the board was down I went through the seasons games in which we dropped at least 2 pts after 75mins and broke down the critical mistakes made were 4 by Garcia (just regular man marking) and 4 by Wynne (2 of those were those handballs). That's 8 critical games. Is it fair to rest it on those two players shoulders? Well I think it's fair to see substitution after the 75min for them.

^ Interesting stat Forts, but a bit harsh on them. I mean garcia is a fuckwit, or at least he's become one, but this is an issue that has been going on since season one and I really think it falls down to the team colelctive.

Think about it - we sit deeper and deeper, just hitting long balls out whenever we get possession. it's not like we are playing possession football and pressing in the final third to give us breathign room and then someone makes a stinker. We just sit abck and invite pressure and wait for someone to crack. Inevitably, someone will in thsoe situations.

So to me, it's a team problem. Although having fuckwits in the backline doesn;t help I agree! :D

I crossed my fingers on Saturday when the clock clicked 75.......

When the clock clicked 75, I was not the only one in my row calling for more than 1 substitution, by Cummins

Frustrating beyond belief...This clearly illustrates the mismanagement of a talented roster that at the very least, should have clinched a playoff berth by now. I defend MoJo because of statistics such as these. If MoJo is in fact calling the shots from upstairs than he is at fault. However, I find it hard to believe that he would discourage the utilization of players he scouted such as Gomez and Sanyang.

I still think the hand ball calls against Wynne were unfair. Maybe I'm getting my instances mixed up but wasn't one a ball shot at his lingering arm and the other was shot directly at him and he was protecting his body.

None of that matters now of course, but I still think he was hard done by.
