Been playing the PC demo for a couple of days. Way improved over 09, in terms of gameplay. The trick stick lets you pull the ball any which way (ala your stick in NHL) and the shooting (and goalkeeping) are both massively improved.

Leads to generally more realistic situations. Was playing with Barca v. Chelsea last night and chelsea was pushing up hard at the end of a nil-nil game and got caught on a break by Thierry Henry. Sprinted in almost from the half, defender couldn't catch up, used the trick stick to pull the ball over as the goalie rushed out, rounded him nicely at the spot, bottom corner.

Shit like that didn't happen much in 09.

No way. Played the FIFA and second W11 demos and I find FIFA much better, as I did last year and the year before that. It used to be closer and I will say that PES has some things bang on but IMO FIFA is leaving PES to eat its dust now.

The improvement in the AI movement this year is dramatic. When you see a striker playing off a defender's shoulder and a big space behind the line, he'll often read your through ball perfectly. It's great fun. Shooting's a bit too easy, though, so I'm gonna have to ramp the goaltending up (or play with an MLS club.)

The gameplay definitely makes up for it. It's the best footy game today, once you master the new dribbling mechanic's and tackling timing, it's very natural. The most impressive thing is the runs that forwards make for you, if you have a head for the game, it's very rewarding to create some pretty plays!

I used to play FIFA religiously since 2004 on my PC. But the PC is too slow for the recent versions (2009, 2010). It really becomes choppy. so I want to buy a proper game console. Is FIFA 10 the same on all consoles? Or is best on 1?

What I do is transfer Kaka, C. Ronaldo, Messi, Iker Casillas, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Toronto FC prior to starting manager mode, and when I'm in the MM, I transfer them out to get a ton of money. That way, I can do what I want without worrying about money. But this year there's two different budgets so I don't know if that will work... :(

Don't know if I'll be buying it this year, until I've heard how manager mode is. It's been garbage in all the other years, with unrealistic finances and transfers that made it incredibly easy. I heard they were fixing it but I'll believe it when I see it.

I really only played last years on Xbox Live, and my Live account expired, I didn't get much fun out of the single player aspects. When I do buy this game and get a live account it's going to be expensive :facepalm:

Alright, so, after some initial gameplay, I can say that Toronto FC is much more realistic this year. Chad Barrett misses a lot, Nick Garcia is slow, De Ro burst past players and De Guzman is a beast in midfield.

I'm truly enjoying this game.

I'm not sure. I only got to play five matches, 4 of which were preseason friendlies.
They matched me up automatically with Parma, Mallorca, Houston and San Jose, then I had colombus as the opener. That's all I played but I've tried every player, and it's not too shabby if I say so myself.

They need to have an option to move clubs from one league to another, cause without the CC/CCL in the game, TFC plays their 30 game season and that be that. Be a lot more fun to take the boys from the depths of League Two like I did Luton Town to a EPL powerhouse

fifa is the only way to go bud, i uploaded a front profile and a side profile picture and it literally makes you a player that looks exactly like you, and you can use him online or in manager mode. you cant beat that.

in FIFA10 manager mode the MLS season is 28 games (H and A) in a single table without conferences. The top 8 teams make the playoffs. In the first round it is 1v8, 2v7, etc......... it's random after the 1st round though.

If you go to tournament mode though and select MLS it is a 42 game schedule ( 3 games vs each team) and no playoffs.

They changed around the transfer system so that it's not just based upon money.

From Wikipedia (because if it's on there, it must be true):
"The acceptance of the offer will be based on factors such as the number of players in your squad in the same position, and the promise of higher-level competition outside the domestic league, such as the Europa League (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Europa_League) or Champions League (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UEFA_Champions_League)."

You can in the PC version. It gives you an 'incentive' scale, and depending on the quality of the other team, you'll have to give them more or less of the gate to get them to play.

The big clubs are merciless against smaller clubs.

PC gameplay I understand is still quite different from the boxes. I'm really enjoying it, but it's hella hard to win with Toronto.

I'm playing a "Be A Pro" season as a striker with Crewe Alex and have four goals in seven games, so doing OK.

PES still captures the individual players and teams better. Barcelona, Spain, Italy, Germany and what not play exactly like they do in real life. FIFA still isn't that good in that regard. Also, the play in the final third still captures the excitement of real football better compared to FIFA, which leads to better and more realistic goals.

Firstly let me say that after finally getting time to play the game tonight (7 games into season) its freaking amazing!

I haven't had problems getting decent players. I just put in a bid for Ian Hume and Simone Jackson and they had high interest at a reletively low salary. About the same as Vitti and Garcia were making before I sold them.
My season record when the window opened was 6-1-0 so maybe that had something to with it.

Or maybe having named "Danny Dichio" as manager is like a secret code. :p
