Dero is under contract...lets not get silly. He was not being paid DP money in Houston and a non DP does not become a DP for us...because he is a hometown kid. I would be the first to acknowledge he is out best player and MVP this year, but that does mean we should be stupid about it. If the max is raised from 400 to 500...I would be happy to give him more cash and some allocation...but this is not Dero's million dollar pay day...if he was worth that much...Houston would have paid it.

The team got some bad news today when it learned that goalkeeper Josh Wicks will be out 4-6 weeks after suffering a dislocated shoulder and MCL sprain in Sunday's 2-1 loss to the San Jose Earthquakes. Wicks' injuries came on the same play in the second half.

I always got the feeling DeRo wasn't happy with his contract situation at TFC...the Grill interview and the subsequent article kind of reinforces it for me.

TFC have to be crazy not to want to make Dwayne happy, and so far they haven't done a good job. He gave up a lot coming up to Toronto, including marketing opportunities and international exposure by being on a winning MLS side.

His desire to grow the game in Canada shouldn't come at the sacrifice of his financial future.
