That Sting v Blizzard game was the last NASL game ever played. I would rather not acknowledge that game, for a bunch of reasons!

Instead, I invite you to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the 1984 Euros, which was hugely important for French football and was an incredible coming out performance by Michel Platini. Nobody else has dominated a Euro or WC tournament the way he did, in the last 50 years. It's hard to remember what a great player he was, given that he's become such an annoying FIFA eurocrat.

As good as Sirioux has been and can be for TFC, I think Blanco is a greater loss. I'll take that exchange anytime.

What are MLS rules regarding injury reports? Can the Fire say he's out...then on gameday have a change in status and still put him in the lineup?

Yes. But there is time/schedule limit by which they have to announce their strating 11 and substitutes.

There's no rule's as to what a team can say about missing players...just look at what Colorado did to us concerning Casey....said he was with the US national team and would miss the game, and yet he trots out at the opening kick-off with a big smile on his face...too bad about Serioux...that means we get to see that donkey/pylon Garcia for 90 minutes....anything but a win by TFC and we're out of the playoffs...

Yea that is not true....but we will be making it harder to get there for sure

With Guevara and DeRo only starting training yesterday, I think we have a bit more to worry about.

McBride's healthy, I assume. chicago's a good team even without blanco. I don't care how many mental rookie mistakes he's made, I'd take Emmanuel Gomez, a physical presence, marking McBride over Garcia every day.

remember last season when Wynne blocked a free kick from Blanco... with his face!

it actually knocked him off his feet. Dude's got a killer leg under that hunchback.

Not to mention the fact that at his age he still better than 90% of the MLS.

Can't stand the personal attacks on this guy.
But I suppose all the Brad Pitt look-alikes around here can call him that...

Former Toronto FC player Brian McBride missed a couple of months with a bad shoulder.

I guess the same reason Jack Astor's calls itself 'TFC Headquarters'......

I take your Michel Platini and raise you Diego Maradona in 1986 and Ronaldo in 1998. Platini was a great player but other players have dominated tournaments in more dominant fashion; not to mention, in the 1980s the Euros only involved eight teams. Unfortunately he played before my time, and for the record, I think the whole 'EPL witch hunt' thing is a media fabrication. Platini is a bit arrogant but I don't really mind him.

I was at that Sting Blizzaard game 5 years ago. I still have the tape. Truly an exciting game at Varsity Stadium. We had Italian Star Roberto Bettega on the team and two amzing South Africans. lOST in the championship game 3-2 and the NASL folded the next week, even though popularity of the team was at an all time high.
