THANKS TO EVERYONE THAT CAME OUT!!!

We had approximately 34 people that showed up from Usector and RPB. I have to say I was on panic mode when I saw how large the banner was... but we had some seasoned veterans and +A people at gridding! Also, much respect to Kompot for having made unbelievable map grid lines that would have made the military envious...

1/3 of the banner is complete (outline only)... and ready to be painted. Session #2 will be an all day event... so please stay tuned for an update here later this week.

Also, we'll probably switch it up for the food reserves... maybe subway next time as the pizza was blaaaaah....

THANKS ONCE AGAIN!!! For those who took discreet pictures feel free to post them here... just as long as they don't reveal too much ;)

I think I'll make it to part 2 if it's another weekend. Getting my G2 soon so it'd be cool to paint the banner :D

big thanks to everyone that made it out and contributed in any way..whether it was helping to grid the thing or the tracing it came together fantastically. Hopefully all the first timers are encouraged to come out to more of our fun sessions..the party mix is what makes it awesome. :)

The hardest part is outta the way now and we got a lot done a lot faster then I would have thought. All that needs to be traced now is siiiiiimple and then paint.

I also burnt the top of my head and I blame drek...

It's true the roll was close to 300 probably so the extra they gave us will be put to good use.

wooooooooooooow

That might be an idea... The Banners team morphing into the Tailgate team.... can this be done?!!?

It might be too much downtime in my opinion... whenever you have a BBQ you will have people socializing like a watercooler at work.... we already have social butterflies during the Banner sessions we don't need more :D

Good work to all who helped out yesterday, even those who showed up late. ;)

So we have more roll than we need? We'll need to make sure to measure it out so we don't make this bad boy too big! :D

That's what she said.

It's unbelievable how big this thing is. I have to wonder if any supporters group in MLS has ever done anything like this. Or team for that matter.

I am thinking we may be setting yet another record to add to Toronto's supporter lore.

I can't make next Saturday though, I have a wedding and we are having friends from England stay with us all week.

We should also put to good use the metal pipe that came inside the roll, it is perfect for the north end stand.

next time we need more wood planks to put the cans on as they cut the material and we need brooms to sweep the lot.

Popped my banner cherry on this one too. I was unsure how or if it would get done after we unrolled it twice and still had no room but it all worked out. It’s so big maybe some should contact Guinness.:D

problem is you can sweep all we want but the uneven surface will still come through. Including any little holes in the pavement. Though would be useful to get rid of large chunks to prevent another holy shit rock - operation remove it action :)

I think Chicago did one a few years ago (ended up being 'lost' by their FO)

Its not that big. Lets not let this go to our heads. This is basically the standard the world over, pretty much on a weekly basis. We are just stepping up to the plate and meeting that standard.

Exactly.

Moving forward, I think the goal is to do something on this scale at least 3-4 times a year.
