Carver unhappy with Reds
Toronto FC coach disappointed with club's performance

HOUSTON -- After a disappointing 3-1 loss to the Houston Dynamo on Sunday evening at Robertson Stadium, Toronto FC head coach John Carver found little to be happy about in his team's performance. "I just thought from the first whistle we were dreadful," Carver said. "We had a spell in the game where Jeff [Cunningham] scores a great goal and we got a little bit of pressure, but no excuses tonight -- we were beaten by the better side."
Goalkeeper Greg Sutton was particularly disappointed with his team's defensive performance after being subjected to 19 shots by the Dynamo's attack, including eight on goal. Dwayne De Rosario put the Dynamo ahead just before the end of the first half, then Brian Ching scored twice in the second to put the game away.
"We didn't react too well to the situation," Sutton said. "We defended like inexperienced defenders from the front all the way back to the back."
The loss drops Toronto's record in road games to 1-4-0 on the season. The team is 4-0-2 when playing at BMO Field.

Toronto FC drops road game to Dynamo

Brian Ching scored a pair of goals and Scarborough native Dwayne De Rosario added another as the Houston Dynamo earned a 3-1 win over Toronto at Robertson Stadium in Houston on Sunday.
Jeff Cunningham scored in the 71st minute for Toronto (5-4-2), which falls to 1-4 on the road this season with the loss. Toronto played its second-straight game shorthanded. Forward Amado Guevara (Honduras) and midfielder Maurice Edu (United States) missed the game due to obligations with their respective national teams.
Goalkeeper Greg Sutton returned to the Toronto lineup after a one-game absence with the Canadian national team and was welcomed back by an aggressive Houston team (4-3-5, 17 points) — that took 19 total shots.

Ching, Dynamo dominate TFC

Houston, TX (Sports Network) - Brian Ching notched two goals and one assist as the Houston Dynamo handed Toronto FC a 3-1 defeat at Robertson Stadium on Sunday.
Dwayne De Rosario had a goal and an assist as he played a more attacking role for the Dynamo, which has now lost just once in its last seven games.
Jeff Cunningham tallied his 99th goal in MLS in the 71st minute for Toronto, which had its six-game unbeaten streak snapped with the loss.
The first 20 minutes of the match were sloppy with both teams losing possession far too easily, but things started to pick up in the final 20 minutes of the half with both teams creating chances.
Stuart Holden put the first shot of goal in the 25th minute when he tested Toronto goalkeeper Greg Sutton with a low shot from 30 yards that the keeper had trouble holding.
The visitors responded with their best chance of the half seconds later when Jim Brennan crossed from the left to an open Cunningham at the top of the six- yard box. The delivery was right there but Cunningham should have done much better with the finish as he nodded the ball over the net.

De Rosario powers Dynamo win
Move to forward helps team beat Toronto FC, tie for first in West
By BERNARDO FALLAS

It was during preseason that Dynamo midfielder Dwayne De Rosario was asked if he would be cool with a move to the forward spot, a position he played with mixed success in his first few years in MLS.
De Rosario hesitated to commit at the time, mainly because, he said, the Dynamo had plenty of talent there. A temporary move would be OK, though.
If he was campaigning against a permanent move Sunday, De Rosario did a heck of a poor job. And the Dynamo couldn't be more elated.

Ching nets two as Dynamo beats Toronto

HOUSTON -- Brian Ching scored two goals and assisted on another as the Houston Dynamo defeated Toronto FC, 3-1, on Sunday night at Robertson Stadium.Dwayne De Rosario added a goal and an assist for the Dynamo (4-3-5), who improved to 4-1-1 in their last six and jumped into a tie for first place in the Western Conference with the Los Angeles Galaxy.
"Going into this game, we knew that if we won we would be tied with L.A. up top," Ching said. "It was definitely a topic of discussion and was something we had on our mind. We went out there and played well for that reason."
Toronto FC (5-4-2) was handed its first loss in three games.
In the first half stoppage time, Ching threaded a pass between two defenders to De Rosario in the left box. De Rosario took Toronto goalkeeper Greg Sutton one-on-one and beat him with a bullet into the net to give Houston a 1-0 lead at halftime.

Toronto FC's road woes continue
Jeff Cunningham's goal lone bright spot in loss
By Lucas Ogden-Davis / MLSnet.com Staff

HOUSTON -- Toronto FC continued to struggle on the road on Sunday, suffering a 3-1 defeat to Houston Dynamo at Robertson Stadium. The loss drops Toronto's record to 1-4-0 on the road, compared to 4-0-2 when playing at BMO Field. Brian Ching scored two goals and set up another, netted by Dwayne De Rosario, as the Dynamo controlled much of the match. Jeff Cunningham pulled a goal back for TFC late, the 99th league goal of his MLS career.
With midfielders Amado Guevara and Maurice Edu missing to be with the Honduras and U.S. national teams, respectively, Toronto couldn't maintain pressure on the Houston defense and yielded a 19-5 shot differential for the evening.
Toronto appeared a half-step slow early in the first half, allowing Houston to control the ball in Toronto's defensive end for much of the first 15 minutes of the match. But Toronto's defense held, doing enough to prevent Dynamo from getting off any shots until the 24th minute.

We were total and complete shit last night. Men against boys with Cunny's goal as the only relief in an otherwise painful display. Is this enough to warrent a shake up in the team?
