Seattle vs DC

http://atdhe.net/watch-major-league-soccer.php?i=781036&t=DC%20United%20vs%20Seattle%20Sounders%20FC

We'll see if DC is after some revenge after US Open Cup loss. Plus playoff spots in the running...

what do we want in the Seattle DC game?

I'm thinking a DC loss... but then that puts seattle up to 37 points for the playoff spots.
at least if Seattle stays at 34, we are tied with them.

Obviously we need Chicago to continue their good road form in Salt Lake tonight too... if Salt Lake wins, they've got 37 as well.

Yeah I did...but fuck I want playoffs and them losing helps.

We don't know how the rest of Seattle or Dallas' games will end up. A draw would be better for us I believe.

rocker

how about tomorrow? definitely have to hope for a tie between New England and Chivas. but the shitty thing is a tie ties them both with TFC in points.

We have to remember that it's all about the standings at the end of our 5 games so whatever is best for us long term is best for us.

Montero over the bar again.
players like Montero and Emilio are so frustrating to watch

moments of brilliance leading to goals. other times, it's like Barrett trying to score

then again, if they were any consistent, they would be in Europe right now

Yohan
09-12-2009, 08:11 PM
lol. Emilio with two huge misses

Yohan

Well, all we can do is try to win our remaining fixtures, and hope other results break our way. WIth the signing of JDG, I remain hopeful that we can salvage this season still.

At the moment, winning all five remaining games is the only insurance of getting into the dance. JDG will only get us so far -- everyone needs to pick themselves up by the bootstraps after this game, and immediately start focusing towards the Galaxatives.

One is shocking, two is sickly, three is borderline, four is fantastic and five is astronomical -- let's shoot for astronomical.

09-13-2009, 01:13 AM
We need to go 3-1-1 and get to 44 pts for a fighting chance, 3-0-2 will give us a realistic chance. With our crap road record, I just dont see us getting a win in LA or Chi.

who has the final spot right now, us or RSL, we have identical records, would RSL go through due to their +8 GD compared to our -3 GD?

Yep. Head to head then goal differential if still tied.

RSL won the first game. Even if we win the second, they would then win on goal differential. So, your standings aren't accurate. We are still out of a playoff spot as of this morning.

The only team we are chasing that we have a winning record against is DC. The only team chasing us that we have a winning record against is New England.

Tie 1-1. RSL now takes the playoff spot over us due to our head-to-head loss against them earlier this season.

Unless we beat 'em by more goals. Head to head isn't just points against each other, it includes the GD too.

But you're right, we're still in 9th at the moment.

Seeing Jeff playing like a super star under another team hurt so much.
He terrorised LA last night at home and LA played with Becks + Landy.
It makes you wonder where is the problem in TFC. Is it the players or the management?
