I think the JDG deal is too late....I hope I'm wrong though.

No ... it's just in time for when talk about SSH renewals ramps up. Timing is perfect

I'm really torn on JDG coming into TFC. While I admire the man's talents, how much of a difference can he make?

I want JDG at TFC, but I'm also questioning how big of an impact he can make this year.

Is he the one player that can turn things around? Not sure. There are scores of examples of that one missing player joining a team and making a huge impact. JDG will make the team better no matter what. He is that good; especially by MLS standards.

But I see much deeper issues on the field when watching this team. JDG can't fix inconsistent performances by other players, he can't make up for bad tactics or poor execution of good tactics.

But man, if he does sign I really do hope he can make an immediate and very big impact on this team.

If MLSE is making a business decision, they've blown it already. JDG was needed to move us further into the CCL. That would've meant 6 more games for us. Now the playoffs would mean only one more home game. One home and away series, then after that it would be one game semi finals, home team the one with more points. Then the final in Seattle.

SSG nice shnoobs, that's good. :) But man she looks like my cousin, that's bad. :(

Completely agree.

At this point the CCL has moved on without us, and JDG could have made a difference there.

And the playoffs now are looking like barely a possibility with at least 4 wins out of 6 games needed. I doubt JDG can really help us achieve that lofty goal.

So really...this move to land JDG is a season ticket move. To encourage fans to re-up for next year because next year is gonna be awesome! Of course it is...and Mo is going to have his squad sorted out by the end of next summer...again...

This has nothing to do with getting into the playoffs this year. Anyone who believes that is drinking the MLSE kool-aid again.

You kind of sound like MLSE is in the driver's seat on this and making decisions.

As always, they are grabbing what they can when they can. They made a multi-million dollar offer and the guy said no. Now, when he might not be able to come close to that kind of money somewhere else he's come back and said maybe. Should MLSE tell him forget it? Would that have any effect on further negotiations with other players or coaches?

They're not making any calculated decisions on season ticket renewals or anything, they don't have nearly that kind of control over the situation. This league reacts to things, it doesn't act.
