Toronto FC-Dynamo Preview

The Houston Dynamo visited the White House earlier this week to be congratulated for winning back-to-back MLS Cup championships.
After a slow start this season, they're starting to play like winning a third straight title is possible.
The Dynamo will look to gain at least a point for the sixth time in seven games on Sunday when they host Toronto FC.

3. TFC about to test its new success on the road: There can be no doubt that Toronto FC is a vastly improved lot. The attack is night-and-day better, and the defense looks more settled.
On the other hand, we're about to learn if John Carver's crew can really be threat this year to make noise in the postseason, of if "respectability" is this year's plateau.

Carver unhappy with blasé goalkeeper
Coach wants more effort from backup Edwards during training sessions
Morgan Campbell

Toronto FC head coach John Carver had planned to start Brian Edwards in goal against Houston tonight, but now he's not so sure.
Carver's policy – known to everyone on the team – is to keep his starting lineup intact if the team wins. And while regular starter Greg Sutton left TFC to join Canada's national team last week, Edwards stepped in and started Toronto's 2-0 win over Los Angeles.
Edwards wasn't tested often, stopping the Galaxy's only shot on goal, but Carver thought he played well enough to stay in the starting lineup even after Sutton returned from national team duty.
But after a lacklustre practice Friday, Carver said Edwards might just return to the bench.
He said Edward's attitude bothered him more than his performance Friday. Carver wants to encourage competition but said Edwards seemed to concede the starting job to Sutton.
"The way he trained this morning he's almost thrown the towel in," Carver said Friday.

Normalcy evades Dynamo
Unusual rainout precedes today's match against Toronto FC
By BERNARDO FALLAS

It is not up to Ripley's Believe It or Not standards, but the week keeps getting weirder for the Dynamo.
Wednesday they had a match against D.C. United called off after 15 minutes because heavy rains made for a waterlogged field. The postponement was rare in a sport that prides itself on defying almost any weather condition save lightning or a torna- do.
Today, the Dynamo will face a team missing more players to national team duty than them, something almost unheard of for the defending champions over the past two seasons.
Toronto FC, off to a solid start in its second season in MLS, will be without gifted midfielders Maurice Edu and Amado Guevara, who are with the U.S. and Honduran national teams, respectively.
"That's one league MVP (Guevara) and one future full-time national team player," Dynamo defender/midfielder Richard Mulrooney said Saturday.

I'm thrilled with yesterday's MLS game results! A win tonight will make MLS fans and teams view us as a real threat.

I was watching DCU V CHICAGO and actually jumped when Luciano Emilio scored that goal, that and the Columbus loss to San Jose of all people and we could go to 2nd in the league with a W tonight.

We've played 10 games. NE has played 12. Best case scenario is that we win the next 2 games! That would give us 25 points. Top of the league baby!

17+6=25 :noidea: but I wouldn't mind at all to be on the top of the league with 23 points:D

DC is starting to finally get some results. I think if they sort out their defensive meltdowns they'll make a big turn around.

We finially get the enron math to come up with the number of international spots on this team. Props to Kelly for actually following through on this .... twice, the league couldn't even give him the right answer the first time around.
