03/06/2008 12:09:11 AM
Major League Soccer confirmed Monday that Houston Dynamo defender Eddie Robinson was suspended for one game and fined $500 US for retaliatory actions.
Robinson, 29, was suspended for retaliating against midfielder Andre Rocha in the 80th minute of last Wednesday's 2-2 draw with FC Dallas.
Robinson's punishment, handed down by the league's disciplinary committee, is over and above an automatic one-game suspension and $250 US fine for a red card he received.
Robinson was hit with a yellow card earlier in the match following an altercation with midfielder Marcelo Saragosa.
He will sit out Wednesday versus D.C. United.
Robinson has yet to score in seven starts this season, his seventh in MLS.
The American international has totalled eight goals and eight assists in 127 MLS games, including 121 starts.
