That's a good point. What was he chewing him out for? John is supposed to report. Was there something inaccurate in what he reported? Was there something off the record?

Why would Cummins chew him out? And when he did, was THAT off the record?

Chewing out a reporting for reporting is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. You KNOW whatever you say to a reporter may be reported, so if you don't want to see it in print, why would you say it? And if you don't give him any real info, of course he is going to go dig it up elsewhere?
