CARSON, Calif. -- On the heels of their 2-0 victory against New York on Saturday, Chivas USA welcomed new signing Jesús Padilla to The Home Depot Center on Tuesday. The versatile forward joins the Red-and-White on loan from sister club Chivas de Guadalajara, and will be eligible to play against Toronto FC on Saturday. Padilla is a product of Chivas de Guadalajara's youth system and has made 24 appearances for the club's first team.
"I'm very excited to be here," said Padilla at a press conference on Tuesday. "I want to thank Preki for giving me the opportunity to be in the squad. I'm here to be a leader and to look for a championship. I'm ready to step up to the plate."

"[Jesús] is a very exciting young player and I think his attacking style of play is going to be very popular with our fans," continued Hunter. "I think this move is going to bolster our chances for the playoffs and regain our form that we started the season with."

1 goal in 24 caps and playing his first game in a new league? Gee, we better pack up and go home.

was shipped out of Chivas (Mexico) because they just found out he's US born and they have an all Mexican policy

Edit: ok, seems they knew he was US born, but I think thats the issue regardless

Doesn't sound so bad (just read the Chivas press release, didn't know his stats). Bring him on! :flare:

He'll take one look at Serioux, Nana and Gomez, shit in his shorts and have to leave the field for a shower and some clean udnerwear.

I'm not too worried about this, it's not like it was an easy proposition before this news, so in relative terms it's nothing to worry about.

Actually, I was watching Extra Time and they said he had no goals in 24 games. But maybe i'm wrong...They said the GK for New York has a better goalscoring record this year.

Chivas owner Jorge Vergara's take on the nationality question is simple: "We go by the definition in the Constitution," Vergara says. "Mexican law says that you are a Mexican if you are born outside Mexico and both parents are Mexican."

interesting

No, no. The Beatles were bigger than Jesus.

Don't forget the B Sharps. They were bigger than Jesus too. It was even the name of their 2nd album.
