Benfica's website was hacked this afternoon in an amusing manner, as the person responsible has allowed anyone to create false news about upcoming signings by the Portuguese club.
When checking the following link, you can read that Goal.com is "about to sign" for Benfica, whose fans are "euphoric and anxious" to see our own website playing for the club.
If you edit the link and replace 'Goal.com' with Lionel Messi, for example, you can read the same message, only this time it is the Barcelona man who is due to sign for the Eagles.
This glitch has caused several false news articles to be circulated on the internet. A Portuguese sports website even wrote a story about Benfica being close to signing Porto striker Hulk after being taken in by the trick.
