What do New York and Toronto have in common? Besides the empty trophy case?

No other team in the league has the benefit of 3 team 'tournament'.

Canadian Championship titles are just a little more difficult to win than Carlsberg Cups (which seem to be pretty dam difficult for us).

but New York has had 13 years to get something...........

I mean, even the Kansas City WIZ.. I mean Wizards, have trophies after 13 years...

If they played a 3 team tournament with Rochester and Carolina im pretty sure they would have a trophy by now.

After 3 years, DC had 2 MLS Cups, 1 Supporters Shield, 1 U.S. Open Cup, 1 CONCACAF Champions Cup, 1 Interamerican Cup...and a partridge in a pear tree that we won off the Jersey front office. :D

The fourth year was good too, but I don't remember much from 2000-2003, other than I drank a lot of beer and we won f*ck all. :o So, you know, your first three years are better than our middle four.

Thank the lord they changed the MLS Champions trophy.
Now they just have to get rid of that fugly supporters sheild. I mean look at that thing... it's hideous!

Anyone else notice that DC has a cup that looks exactly like the V-Cup just with a different base?

But lots of leagues seem to be full of 2-3 teams winning all the time and the rest having no chance. Isn't the Scottish league just two teams taking turns?

In North America we have a sports culture that only values one trophy a year. That may not be the best system.

It's the old CONCACAF Champions Cup, now replaced by the CONCACAF Champions League.

It's Mo's fault that NYRB's trophy case is so empty? i dont think he did THAT bad of a job there.

some people blame Mo for every thing.

New York has been around since 1996. Mo only coached NYRB for 15 games!!! Their trophy case being empty has little to do with Mo.

Mo did do some accomplishments during that time:

He drafted Jozy Altidore, the first of many brilliant draft picks. Jozy was not on anyone's radar.

He also led the MetroStars into the playoffs.

His record the following year was 2 wins, 3 losses, 7 ties, though not brilliant, was hardly a horrible record. His firing was due more to the change in ownership when Red Bull took over than due to his record.
