I hear there was a spelling mistake on the TFC / Real half and half scarf?

Is that a fact?

Anyone have a pic?

On the plus side we won't be paying for the event scarves. I haven't heard the story behing these but I cannot wait to hear it. I can assure you that the approved artwork from TFC had "Toronto" spelled the traditional way with just 3 "o"s.

:scarf: <----- for next time Paul

if the game was in Spain, and the scarf made in Spain, I might forgive the error.

but someone in Toronto managed to get it wrong????

Seriously... I agree, YOU'RE FIRED!

ok, here is a question for those responsible...

Do you not have a vector image of the TFC crest on file?
One that you never change, and simple paste into whatever merch you are designing?

How can there possibly be a spelling error on the crest????
That seems impossible!

Hey, those who bought them early enough are lucky. These sorts of printed mistakes end up raising the value.

This ML$E's doing?

Absolutely! It's not a letter once it is in the logo! The approved artwork had the vector image.

So the error occured (probably) in the factory where the were made.

I'm thinking of selling them now... It's a good story... But we couldn't sell them on game day... That would have been fromage!

Why would anyone pay for a scarf with the incorrect spelling of Toronto on it?

Hoping to display it on Antiques RoadShow in 40 years and get it appraised at $20,000?

The fact that the FO actually consider sell these things and the fact that there are people are willing to buy them is absolutely hilarious.

I bought mine Thursday at the practice, you can't tell it's not spelled right when it's folded up in the plastic.... from the tag, looks like it was made in England.

Wouldn't affect it since the spelling is the same. Doesn't change when translated (like most city names)
Still thats so weird!

I was just making a point that having a "Toronto produced" scarf with Toronto misspelled is ridiculous.

But since it has been pointed out that the error was caused by the manufacturer, my point is no longer pertinent.

I don't get it.

The vector would have the fonts converted into outlines, so in order for the mistake to be made, the factory would have had to delete the outline, and then retype the word in, using the correct font, and probably converting that back to outlines too.

I'm actually stumped, it almost appears deliberate.

Ya I know.
Could be Engrish or Spanglish depending on where it's made...

When you're making a design like that you would retouch everything on a pixel-by-pixel basis (stitch-by-stitch) to make it as clean and legible as possible - especially the text.

Of course, you'd also spell it correctly.

Vector files are not pixel based graphics, they maintain their clean edges regardless of scaling.
