Reds and Revolution set to face off
Saturday's match crucial for final standings
By Mark Polishuk
TORONTO -- Toronto FC has spent the last six weeks battling Columbus, Chicago and D.C. for Eastern Conference supremacy. Now, the Reds' main goal on Saturday is to keep a fifth team from getting into the hunt. The New England Revolution have rebounded after a slow start to the 2009 season and now sit just three points behind TFC for fourth place in the East. The Revs also have three games at hand on Toronto, meaning that Saturday's match at Gillette Stadium is a crucial one for a Reds team that doesn't need any pressure from below them in the table.

Cummins optimistic TFC can halt tailspin
Daniel Girard
Last week, before the first of four games in 11 days, Toronto FC coach Chris Cummins said the stretch would define his team's season.
After two games – both losses – it's difficult to argue.
Solid play punctuated by momentary and devastating lapses were at the heart of a 3-2 loss in Columbus in a key Major League Soccer match-up and then a 1-0 defeat at home to Puerto Rico in the first leg of the two-game CONCACAF Champions League preliminary round.

TFC happy to have Cronin back
Paul Attfield
In a week in which Toronto FC lost out on one international player, they quickly gained another.
While nobody was shocked to see Julian de Guzman finally reject TFC's offer in favour of hopefully continuing his career in Europe, which may be a blessing in disguise if the native of Scarborough, Ont., is not yet ready to return home, Toronto was more than happy to welcome Sam Cronin back into the fold, now a fully fledged international after receiving his first two caps for the United States during last month's Gold Cup.

TORONTO FC LOOKING TO SECURE PLAYOFF POSITION VS. NEW ENGLAND
TSN.ca
Foxborough, MA (Sports Network) - The New England Revolution will be aiming to start their slow climb up Major League Soccer's Eastern Conference table when they host Toronto FC on Saturday evening at Gillette Stadium.
The Revs (6-5-5) are currently three points back of the Reds for fourth place in the table, but have three games in hand on their Canadian rivals.
New England is currently on a two-game winning streak, with the most recent result being a 1-0 win at Houston this past weekend thanks to a Steve Ralston set-up of a Kheli Dube goal.
