Agreed!

Instead of filling my soccer thirst with European games that don't affect my team, I can satisfy my appetite with games of teams that do! Well done.

Good to hear that Gol is slowly but surely turning into a solid channel. I'm seriously considering dropping Setanta on a permanent basis and things like this will make my decision easier.

uh no.

Houston will most likely go far in the playoffs. Toronto might not even make it

TFC > Houston

Toronto til I die

TFC > Houston

Toronto til I die
yes. I quite agree ;)

however, realistic analysis says Houston is the better team right now

realistically Toronto should be 1st place every season, anything less than 89 points in a season is a disappointment

This is a good development, but they kind of missed the boat a little in terms of their timing. There would have been more interest in the games in European offseason.

we're a team that struggles to finish..how does that deserve to be in first every season? until we get that fixed and stop giving up last minute goals
we will continue to struggle. i said at the start of the season a .500 season would be good progress on the last two and we still can acheive that...but we need points on the road and that will be hard in Boston as new england have beaten us badly in the past there.

Be fair. PB mentioned they were looking at up to 40 games in the run up to the approval of the purchase I in no way took that as to be a commitment or a promise.

Excellent! I have been a subscriber to GolTV for a few years and often wondered when we would get to see domestic football.

EXCELLENT NEWS!

I hate that right now we can't watch MLS games...

I'd like to see TSN show the ESPN game of the week on TSN2 - we'd get excellent out of market games, in high definition - win/win situation...

TSN shows very little interest in soccer so why would they show MLS?
in would interrupt their poker and spelling bees broadcasts..lets keep MLS
on Gol where it belongs...the channel is accessable for real footie fans that want it.

You're a fool if you don't think MLS on TSN would be good for the league.

Here's a thought: putting it on a channel that's accessible for everybody might help bring in some new fans.

You must not have a HDTV to say you don't want MLS on TSN

Here's a thought: They aren't interested ..... especially after drawing only 41k for the MLS All-Star game.

Sure, it would be great but TSN doesn't have enough hours in the day now thus the existence of the digital only TSN2. Maybe MLS could go on there but there is little to be gained about being on their throwaway digital only channel.

If out of market MLS matches are going to be stuck on digital, they might as well be on the soccer specific station that is already part of the MLS family.

Gol is showing the Real Madrid match in HD as a first step. Did not PB mention here at RPB that they will utilize an HD channel if and when properties are available to Gol in HD?

The thing about ratings is that they have the ability to boost them simply by "partnerships" with sports.

You see it with Sportsnet and their "Connected" highlight show.

If there is a UFC event coming up, that is to be broadcast on Sportsnet, you can bet that a "preview" of the fight(s) will be in their top 5 stories.

Connected is sports news but it is also a glorified infomercial for their upcoming telecasts. Sportscentre on TSN is the same. Give them a more regular swath of games and I'll bet you'll start to see the coverage pick up.
