ya the old march route is much easier for me, ill be by the pub. I think more people walk the old route because you also pass all the bars and the GO station where thousands take the train and you also got the Street cars station right there to. I think you will get more people involved if you stick to the old route!

yea why the sudden change of routes? they old route seems the best and makes the most impact and if there are going to be any visiting PR fans i would like to march from under the go train right towards them..

I think the idea is that we change it up a bit and try something new.

If it doesn't work we can always revert back to the old route for the one.

Exactly how I feel. Besides the log jam just creates a buzz while we wait for everyone to funnel through. The visiting fans notice the crowd for sure!

you guys can go whatever way you want, i just think since its such a big game it would make more sense to go the route we always have gone because you know it will be a big march. The new route is a maybe it will work maybe not, i think it will be less numbers this route and i think it would be better to try the new route maybe on a mtach less meanningful. But ya thats just my thoughts!

interesting to see how many PRI supporters come for the game tomorrow, there was a post on BS to not expect them to be very exciting or vocal , lol!

"But remember that people down here aren't used to that type of atmosphere in football stadiums, so they won't really look as motivated as the fans at each and every game in BMO. "

I like the idea of shutting down the south traffic on Dufferin. But what happens if Dufferin is already backed up with vehicle traffic? TTC busses use this two. Would there be Police escort like the Canada Jamaica match last year?

is this going to be taking up the road? If so, the dufferin bus which brings in a lot of fans, will be really slowed down.

I'm not complaining, just want to know so I can make alternate plans.

Also, does anyone know if there is still construction at queen/dufferin? will the dufferin bus be detoured again like it was for the houston game?

The detour at Duff & Queen is lifted and back to normal routing. The march shouldnt affect you ride in unless you ar on the bus at 6:50 or later

I like the new route, its more visible to the public. Plus there is nothing wrong with trying something different

I'll be part of it with my two red patch and one casual friends :drum:

First off, it took me posting a thread on your board to start the discussion about this. Noone knew about any 'plan' you guys had made before that.

Second, Mas on your board suggested the route. (a route which we agreed with along with U-Sector)

Now after speaking with our guys for close to an hour (or so it seemed) and corresponding with U-Sector (Rudi) at the same time, marching anytime before 7PM was just not going to happen. (let alone the originally suggested time of 6:30PM) We have alot of members coming from work who want to grab a couple pints before heading off to the game.

I then posted 7 PM over on your board, (before any thread was posted on here or U-Sector) but you guys refused saying it has to be 6:45.

Listen, I know why you guys want to go early. But anytime before 7PM (on a weeknight) is just not possible for us and U-Sector. Keep in mind that most if not all of the marches in the past have left AFTER 7PM.

so what was people's take on this march?

It was bit slow to get started (I think Rudi used the expression 'Herding Cats'),
but once we got a decent number of people in that park, things got pretty good.
Walking down Dufferin was a bit harder than normal, just because we had to stay
on the sidewalk, but once we crossed and got into that park area, it really got fun.

plus it's always nice to see the supporters groups showing some unity.
