Very cool. it is going to be a great place to watch some footy, I am looking forward to making a road trip there to cheer on the Reds, but will have to deal with Giants Stadium one more time thiis year, one of the worst places to watch a MLS game, but who can complain when TFC takes the pitch.

too bad it's wasted on the shite... Red Bull fans better enjoy staring at that stadium and drinking/eating, cuz there ain't much worth watching on the field...

I know that this topic has been discussed, and has become quite tiresome, but I honestly hope that NYRB can routinely fill the new stadium. New York is such a dynamic, untapped market, and it's a real shame that fan support is so poor. Maybe a new stadium, plus a better on-field product, will entice fans to flock to games - though it's a big maybe. Location is the blatant flaw.

I bellieve we should be wishing that every stadium in MLS sells out routinely, because ultimately, that's what will help this league grow, in turn also benefits TFC

it is a better location to due be accessible by transit and is closer to Manhattan than some parts of NYC.

ya this stadium is located better.. but it's still not actually in New York.

MLS needs to get a stadium built in New York that becomes a jewel for soccer, and then put a proper NY team there.

I wonder what the significance is of that piece of brick wall that has been saved which looks to be integrated into the new stadium?

Even if it's New Jersey it looks like a proper place to watch some footie. Now let's see them get some Galaxy success. You know the kind I mean. The kind that gets attention and people to the stadium but doesn't take points away from the rest of the league.:D

I hate the fact that they have such a nice stadium in the works.

I feel like I am cheating on BMO Field.

Maybe MLS will open us @ NYRB next year. And maybe we can send 1000+ down to light a fire on their supporters the same way we lit one for Colombus.

But it be awful if the RPB's were there for the inaugural home match, it just wouldnt be pretty man lol

NY's supporter groups are way better organized and supported than the Crew

well, it's just my perception of it.

Crew really didn't get their act together until last year. NY has been around for a long time, though their numbers started to suck recently

Don't hold your breath waiting for that to happen soon, according to this article in the New York Daily News (http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/more_sports/2009/07/17/2009-07-17_mls_commissioner_says_expansion_team.html).

I was thinking the same thing.
They have 8 months and 2 days to complete this thing from today. Actually they have less time than that seeing as they want the club to hit the pitch of th estadium before the season starts so I'd say 6 maybe 7 months at the most.
It's July (well the end of July) so they have what 3 more months of good construction weather before winter sets in.
I don't know...it's going to be close.

love the look of the new Red Bull stadium, I really wish we could just tear down BMO and start over properly

as for philiy, I watched the fallsview casino with it's hotel go up in a year basically. so Ya I'm sure with the right incentives given to the crews it can be done.
