Mornin,

All the right moves
Gerry Dobson
Such are the vagaries of life in Major League Soccer that its impossible to handicap these matches. The old moniker 'On any Given Sunday' certainly applies to this league even if most games are played on Saturday.

There is no question Toronto FC were by far the better team on Saturday night in San Jose. Yet these were the same Earthquakes who held Real Salt Lake to a draw at Rio Tinto Stadium a week ago. And yes that would be the same RSL which stomped all over Toronto the week before.

Kudos to Hart for stylish play

Here we go again -- Canada is making another unexpected run at the Gold Cup.
Lack of preparation games? No problem. Key Canadian players deciding to take a pass? Whatever.

The bottom line is that Canada has flat-out performed, and winning the tournament's Group of Death is no small feat. Jamaica, El Salvador, and Costa Rica are all solid CONCACAF teams; none of them even close to a walkover.
There is reason to be more encouraged by this side than the team that was robbed in the semifinal against the U.S. in the 2007 event.

Mornin.

I'd love to know why they chose July 15 to open the transfer window. Wevver, bring it on. JDG or no.

Dates are set in negotiations with FIFA. It is FIFA that approves the dates proposed by the USSF and the CSA.

Well, if the SSG didn't work out, at least the Sun's Gareth Wheeler has a decent column.

I'm guessing the Star is done with TFC coverage for the season. Pretty much sticking to their old tried and true soccer fight coverage now.
