Ali G. leads Canada past Jamaica

CARSON, Calif. -- For Ali Gerba, scoring breeds confidence. For Canada, that confidence helped produce a victory at the CONCACAF Gold Cup on Friday night.
Gerba's goal in the 75th minute led Canada to a 1-0 win over Jamaica in Group A play in the Gold Cup opener.
It was Gerba's fifth career Gold Cup goal, tying Carlo Corazzin for the national record. Corazzin scored all five of his in 2000, when Canada won the tournament.

Reds youngsters return to MLS Youth Cup
Toronto FC Academy's Junior Team left for Denver early Friday to take part in the 2009 MLS Youth Cup. The Reds' youngsters open the tournament against Real Salt Lake on Saturday and will then face Columbus Crew on Sunday and Colorado Rapids on Monday in group play.
