Can't say I have heard of this guy before but kind of interesting to see what type of players other MLS sides are prepared to sign.

Commerce City, CO (Sports Network) - The Colorado Rapids signed French defender Julien Baudet on Tuesday.

Baudet begins a new chapter in his 10-year career, coming to the Rapids from English League One side Crewe Alexandra, where he served as team captain the last few seasons.

Baudet's career began in France with Ligue 1 club Toulouse, followed by stints with Oldham Athletic, Rotherham United, and Notts County in England. Throughout his career, the center back has tallied 18 goals and three assists.

Baudet will be eligible to play when International Transfer Window opens July 15, pending receipt of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC).

Per club and league policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

It sounded like Crapids offered him a lot of money

A small correction to the quoted article. He is actually coming from English League Two side Crewe Alexandria. They were relegated from League One last season.

it'll be interesting to see what this guy, the NE striker, are paid. This guy is was not exactly playing for the best leagues in the world.

Yes it will be very interesting.
Just an idea, but perhaps these 2 signings may indicate that it may not be that easy to bring in quality players from Europe. We are sometimes very quick to be critical of Mo but without knowing what he is really up against perhaps we are a little harsh.
Yes occasionally other teams do bring in quality guys but who knows how long it takes them to finally get an agreement and how many guys that they have to go through before they suceed.
Of course this is total speculation but these 2 signings are difficult to make sense of given the standard of the leagues they are coming from.
