that crowd rivals anything in MLS.
And the lumberjack tifo cutting down the space needle, and then the needle falls down!
I Like the huge static banner "Tonight your legend becomes history"
seattle scores 48 seconds in

Portland direct play is causing trouble for somewhat inexperienced Seattle defence
2nd half should be interesting

Le Toux out, Freddy Montero in.
I have a feeling he's going to rape Portland defence

Final Seattle 2 - 1 Portland
was hoping for another upset, but oh well
Clear difference in technical quality between Seattle and Portland. Portland's passing was shite.
I guess this is what you'll have to expect from USL

man! Those Timbers supporters sure got their acts together!
For a small USL team, I'm so impressed!
Can't wait for them to start up in MLS!

Still some issues to resolve with their proposed new stadium and its funding. But not much doubt that they'll make up part of a great three-way rivalry with Vancuver and Seattle when they do join.

last i read, the prob was a local community refuses to have the new baseball stadium in their area (they need to get baseball out of PGE Park so it can be renovated just for soccer).
so now the plan is to remove the baseball deal completely from the funding package and work on it separately. so then MLS becomes the #1 deal to work out and they can go ahead with it.
i don't understand why they don't just fold the baseball team. MLS is bigger than minor league baseball.

There were well over 500 SSFC fans who made the away trip for a midweek US Open cup vs. a USL1 side. That, plus they managed a sell out with about two weeks notice.
Assuming Portland can get their act together, it is quite likely there will be a thousand (or two) fans regularly for away games with Vancouver, Seattle, and Portland.
