View Full Version : RM Tickets: The aftermath .. at least they (MLSE) have some sense

Well I just logged on to Account Manager and bought my pair of tickets.
I know the price is high but I was at least presently surprised to not see any extra services charge placed on top of the price.
If you recall from last year, for the Canadian Championship tickets we had to purchase separately, they had some $12 'handling' fee placed on them. For these RM tickets what you see is what you get. Small consolation, but one nonetheless.

There was no handling fee for the V-Cup tickets last year.

There was a $12 handling fee for our season tickets though.

My seats are regularly $44 per seat per game. For friendlies, I might pay that, but would prefer a cheaper price, since the games mean nothing.

We are probably drifting off topic ... however filling the supporter sections with underpriveledged kids, will 1.) provide a positive form of protest 2.) kill concession sales (which will hurt the bottom line) 3.) give all of us non-ultra's a chance to bring familly and friends ... win-win

as we don't have a option to buy or not buy the included friendly it is effectively a cost of our seasons seats, maybe not free but nobody paid $110 for this game as the ticket sugests.

Given the numerous threads re: standers v. sitters early this season, in non-designated sections, I don't think location matters at this point.

What is really at play, is that despite acceptance and support of NEE in season 1 & 2 -in a "non-supporter" section, as you call it- there has been little reciprocation, since the new designation.

I think the vexatious and personal attacks are telling, attending matches in 110 and 112 this year, I don't find all supporters sections comparable - there have been a number of physical altercations in S.127 largely instigated by NEE suporters not ticketed to those area's ... so I am not sure that the cancer analagy was aptly directed here.

RM ... still on the fence for this one, have seen CR in action before, but may be a good challenge for the lads.

I've been in 112/113 the last 2 years prior and I've seen physical confrontations there too, and without exception all due to non-supporters getting bent out of shape with typical things that go on in a supporters section.

Cowardly shit-throwers in 113 who dont like flags being waved in front of them for a few seconds. Whiners in 112 complaining of beer being spilled on them when TFC scores and the whole section erupts in jumping.

As for saying NEE is instigating physical confrontations... that's a crock of shit and I take exception. Flags and 2 sticks have resulted in people throwing beer at supporters and threats of physical violence ("I'll shove that flag pole up your ass" etc).

Bottom line is 127 is a supporters section. Not your cup of tea? That's what re-location appointments are for.

Personally, I wouldn't cross the road to watch that diving cheating bastard play- he represents everything abhorrent about the modern game, so it seems only natural that the whole event from the "star attraction" (I exempt the classy Kaka) to the pricing to the temporary grass stinks.

MICHAEL O'Neill may have missed out on the Hibernian job but the Northern Irishman has been handed compensation in the form of a chance to pit his wits against Real Madrid next month. O'Neill's Shamrock Rovers side are set to take on the Spanish club in what could serve as Cristiano Ronaldo's debut following his £80 million move from Manchester United.
Real Madrid have adopted rivals' Barcelona preference for spending pre-season training in northern Europe. Following the Catalan club's successful spells in St Andrews, Real have based themselves at Carton House in Maynooth, County Kildare

That game will be played in front of only 10,000 people and ticket prices will be a fraction of what we're asked to pay...

Looks like Ronaldo is worried about playing TFC and is taking on a similar team in Ireland first.... SHAMROCK ROVERS!

so now MLSE has sent out an email this morning saying STH get another shot at tickets.

If you missed yesterday’s window to claim your seats, or are simply looking to get your hands on a few more for friends, family or clients, you’re in luck. Beginning Wednesday, June 17th at 10:00 a.m., all season seat holders will have the opportunity to purchase additional seats .

basically a good opportunity for scalpers to score some more tickets!

Or they did not sell enough tickets to STH and now the are trying to get rid of some extra tickets trough this "extra opportunity".

That's my reading of the "opportunity".

Anyone know if we'll have to pay TM fans on this? I suspect so as the tickets are being sold via TM and not the Account Manager.

that was always the plan.....I had emailed my rep last week about getting extras for a friend of mine and he said that after the sale was done, we'd have a chance at extras

May consider buying tickets tomorrow in the South end for this...

My tickets were $350 but $250 sounds a bit more reasonable.

My reply to my account rep sent yesterday...

"I'll be passing on this one thanks...like many others, I am a little disillusioned on how this friendly was handled and the cost is prohibitive for me as well. Furthermore, I was forced to miss the (rescheduled) meaningful game on Saturday as I was coaching at a tournament in Collingwood. Not happy about that at all (especially when DD scores right in front of my section- I live for those moments !).
I know it's not your doing, but feel free to pass on my sentiments to whomever (if anybody) cares. And please tell whoever came up with the marketing notion that "In three short years, Toronto FC has brought new meaning to fan support and venue atmosphere", that it's guys like me who sing and chant for 90 and wave my flag, not your front office, that have made the atmosphere what it is...thanks for taking the credit."

Just my point of view...off to Montreal Thursday to hope for a miracle...wonder what the "venue atmosphere" will be like at Saputo ?..

I still have top pay for TFC PLAYOFF GAMES (HOME /AWAY.....and dont forget...ML$E always send out a reminder that the first PAYMENT for renewl will be due shortly after season end! ... All the best to the ones who were able to fork out the cake for this game...and be able to afford the games that will matter most down the road!.....in my case i had to pick...REAL MADRID or a possible playoff run and renewal!

there is a damn good question..
how much would playoff tickets cost the seasons ticket holders if TFC does make it in to the playoffs... ?? am i going to have to mortgage the house to pay for them??..

don't our ST come with 1 CONCACAF prelim ticket??? but that only counts if TFC wins by 4 against Montreal. otherwise it's a refund/credit... guess that'll go towards my playoff ticket

unlike the STH, we on the gold lists were charged $7.50 Tickbastered fee per ticket, plus another $4.25 for who knows what. I didn't want to give them another cent, so I opted for the snail mail delivery method.
I logged in right at 10am and only the $150 and up were available. My pair are going to a charity silent auction.

I am on the red list and bought tickets through ticketmaster witht he password provided through email.
A casual soccer fan of mine wanted to go to a TFC game and to try and get them involved I said can get you tickets to league games jut let me know when you want to go...of course they come back with Real Madrid. So I just purchased 2 tickets coming to a total of $320 for a game that doesn't mean anything for fans that dont really watch soccer WOW! This is proof TFC is hitting their target market well.

So Shamrock Rovers (semi-professional) will play Real Madrid this summer. They have real grass but will be installing an extra 6,000 seats to bring the capacity up to 9,000 for the game.. Tickets are 60 euros (about 95 dollars)..(plus charges)
