Hey it's not as easy as drawing a USL team to make the Champions league, but getting a 4 or 5 nil win against the impact is not the hardest thing to do in the world. And here's me being optimistic:

The Impact have a USL game a couple of days later against the Whitecaps, I would say their rivalry also runs deeper with Vancouver than with us...so we may not even get a 1st team squad in a meaningless game for Montreal...we can surely get four on them for a trip to CONCACAF

If toronto can get 2 by the half i think its quite doable.. however they must maintain control of the game for the better part of the 90..

I'd want it to be New York, actually . . . so we'll see what happens tomorrow and if that can maybe lift them out of their funk so they might have a chance of scoring four against Montreal.

BTW -- I'm being sullen on purpose. I find that everytime we go out with positive expectations we always tank.

We need to be desperate as hell and fight like rabid dogs for the full 90 mins in Montreal or the whole teams deserves an ass-whooping.

i think we need to rework our line up to get some goals:
here's what i'm thinking...

experience (garcia and serioux) in the middle mixed with some youth (nana and gomez) on the flanks to move the ball forward.

robinosn and guevera in the middle to control and distribute with cronin on the right side and gala on the left. this will give us some crossing ability and some speed moving up the wings.

dichio and de ro up front. this keeps most of our scoring power in the starting XI and mixes some good speed with goal scoring ability, experience, defense and youth.

a lot of people haven't seen gabe gala play much but he can run and he can score. something we have had trouble with lately.

We need to get an early goal to grow some confidence, and if we can score a second in the first half we'll likely see a TFC team storming the Impact goal for the big win in the second half. But we do need to come out flying - no taking it easy and feeling the game. If we do that time will just disappear and we'll end up with either a draw or a small win. Having said that I absolutely believe that we can win this game, and that we can win it by more than one goal. By 4? Probably not. But it's well worth the try - and I'll be there to watch the whole thing in person.

PLUS this may be Gerba's first game for us!
