If Ronaldo seriously signs I don't think I can say no. I HATE to support MLSE, but in this case, two players who have won FIFA player of the year while still at their peak. I can't say no.

Even if he doesn't play. I'm sure MLSE will create a circus around him. They'll probably put a trampolin at midfield before the game and ask him to jump up and down naked for the ladies.

I was reading some comments about this article and one comment was a little bit of topic:

TFC June 11th 2009, 9:37amI was one of the TFC fans that walked out on MLSE, and not the players last week. Even the players and coaches know the front office could care less about the fans. We've been told by Paul Beirne who's one of the yahoo's that leads the TFC front office in a meeting last week that he could raise season ticket prices by 20% and still sell out the stadium and doesn't care about the supporters. Other season ticket holders for other MLS teams are getting great teams coming to play included in their season ticket package, and we have to pay $150 to see the Real Madrid "B" team? Every friendly we've seen at BMO has been a "B" team as they don't want to risk injury to million dollar players, yet its ok for our lads to do so mid season? FU MLSE.

:D

have some optimism.

besides, Madrid is in their presseason phase, and will have lots of kinks to work out on their own.

I seriously, seriously doubt Real Madrid would allow their star players, like Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo, to play at BMO Field. We'll more likely get the B side playing against TFC. We're just getting a brand name, that's all.

Remember when the CSA rolled out the red carpet for the Trinidadian team, along with steel drum bands and the whole bit? For our "home" game?

That is what this circus is going to be. The players are going to have no support in their own stadium. Like I've said a million times...no self respect. The team is acting like giddy little school girls. Real Madrid is laughing at us...all the way to the bank.

Except...he's probably right. That's usually what happens with these friendlies. Why would you think this one different, particularly on turf?

This game is being played on GRASS. A huge deal has been made about this fact.

With regards to playing B-sides, that's not how it works for preseason friendlies. What usually happens is that the top players play one half at least and then get subbed off. With Real Madrid, and especially with their most recent signings, even their B players are world-class.

Well then I should hope so. It would be cool to see two of the world's greatest players perform on BMO Field. We shall see.

I don't think it would be an entire "B" side but I do think the players that will log the most minutes would be the lesser known talent that fills out the A squad. Perhaps we get a run out from Ronaldo and Kaka but if your Real Madrid I don't see why u would pay almost 140 million pnds on two players and then trust Toronto FC to put down and maintain grass properly.

And now Real is after David Villa too. WTF

]Valencia have turned down a reported offer from Chelsea (http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/football/chelsea/) for David Villa (http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/football/david-villa.html), with the Spain international seemingly set to join Real Madrid instead.[/B]
