View Full Version : Shite Bulls vs. Toronto FC - PREGAME THREAD

TFC USA

The game bumped for Real Madrid is this Saturday, live on Rogers Sportsnet throughout Canada and an internet stream for me, as I'm not in New York. :p at 8:00 PM EST/5:00 PM PST.

We're 4-4-5, Shite Bulls are 2-3-9 and have lost their last 4. They have yet to score on the road, but this is TFC, who haven't had a clean sheet since April.

Marvell Wynne is on Confederations Cup duty and will not be available for this game. Ibbe is doubtful with a concussion. Garcia should be available though.

I'm going with a 2-0 Shite Bulls win. Give me one reason why I should believe TFC can beat a team with a worse record than them when nearly every time we've drawn or lost? Optimism says the usual 1-0 win on a Dichio goal.

Too early for me. Will Guevarra play? If Guevarra and Dichio play we win.

Guevara is up in the air. Probably a game-time decision.

Hopefully we'll actually support the team for this one.

I think we stand a pretty good chance of winning this one if Guevara is back in the line-up. He's been magic this season!

I'd love to see Toronto use a 4-1-4-1 formation on Saturday.

Frei in net

Gyan - Garcia - Robinson - Nana

Cronin

Serioux - Ibrahim - Vitti - De Rosario

Guevara

What do you guys think?

^^I'm confused about what I'm looking at here do you have our best CB playing ahead of Cronin and Guevara as our lone striker or am I reading this incorrectly?

Guevara is the lone striker. Basically it is a 4 - 5 - 1, except 1 midfielder is dropping back in between the defence and midfield. The azzuri use this formation!

Guevara is at his best creating in the midfield. I don't want him as the lone striker.

Serioux that far up?

I dunno, New york is pretty fucking dreadful this year. They've had zero goals for and 12 against in the last four games.

1-0 TFC

I kinda guessed that but the other option was Gala and I thought either could be possible, but it was much more fun to break your balls :D

Anyway, I think Serioux would do fine playing a more attacking role, he is a midfielder as well I believe, and would be great at making runs from the side. The only thing on second thought I might change is move Vitti over one slot further away from De Rosario to space out our play makers more.

As bad as the Red Bulls are, we'll be easy pickings right now for Angel.
A brace for him plus another chipped in by some shite player.

Serioux's natural position is a holding midfielder playing in front of the D .. not an outside half. I don't think he would do well there.

Testify:drum:
Really there are many things wrong with the formation/players.
I've never seen Nana play LB but then again no matter who we put there they'll play out of position so that's a wash.
But I'd definitely switch Robbo as CB for Serioux and possibly put Robbo as the DM then have cronin play out on the right as he did earlier this season. Then put DeRo as the striker or vitti but that's only if you keep this formation.
Although in a time of change this type of creativity is appreciated Sam:scarf:

Well I certainly can't wait to see what they do...hopefully they will try something other than the 4-3-3. I don't mind it, but they have been struggling the past 3 games so it is time to change the formation for sure.

Nuvinho

Can either Serioux or Garcia play at LB?

If Nana is ready......wouldn't mind seeing this backline:

Cronin----------Nana--------Garcia/Serioux---------Garcia/Serioux

T_Mizz

^ The main problem I see with that is that Harmse will probably take cronin's place in midfield and well I'd like to keep him of the pitch completely if possible

The Azzurri have used a 4-1-4-1 ( more like 4-2-1-2-1 of late), but it is modified 4-3-3, with the two strikers playing back on the wings, not a CB/DM playing on the wings, or Pirlo playing as the lone striker. I am not going to comment on all the over issues with the formation.

What do you guys think?

1. what makes you think guevara is more effective as a lone forward when he's our most effective ball distributor? just because he's not a center forward doesn't mean he can't score goals... i can see you put him there because he clearly has quality... but isolating our best playmaker? makes no sense.

2. what makes you think serioux can play as a winger? he's not the fastest, and has only shown he can beat opposing forwards (sometimes shakily) with his skills ;)

3. why is robbo playing CB with serioux at the wing?! no comment. just... !?!?!?!?

is a few of the questions about your "formation"... i mean i don't mind you putting new players in... to each their own... but at least place them in logical positions....

You're buying too much into Garcia being a veteran. He's super slow, Adam Braz slow. I can buy a 5-3-2 though or even a 4-1-4-1. This most likely will be a 4-4-2 though.

I have a hunch Vitti will bust out tonight....

OVER/UNDER: 4.5 f-up's for chad barrett people???

I'm gunna go with Under, simply due to the fact it's the Shite Bulls.....
He'll F- up 4 times tonight....

...Then hopefully be shipped off monday when we sign Gerba
