Anyone got names of STRIKERS out of contract, or probably can be released by their current club on mutual termination that are worthy of DP contract? And MLS has realistic chance of signing

Just trying to see who's available now...

Micheal Owen. Out of contract. Salary is 4-6 million a year.
Im sure we could outbid Manchester City.

99.9% won't happen. I've read news that he's subject of a £2 million bid by Barnsley and a similar one by another team, forget which one.

I'm quite sure we wouldn't have to, however Owen would be the last guy we want playing on our plastic pitch.

£3 million by Newcastle as the rumour goes.

And I wasn't trying to follow the OP, just insert Beckford's name wherever possible

Do we actually have the cap space to add a DP right now?

TBH, I worry more about our depth right now than signing a DP. We had two keepers on the bench on Saturday, and when we were chasing a game, we had to replace a striker with defender who had never played in the MLS before.

Lita was a key player for RFC in 2006 when the set the highest point total ever achieved by any team England. Would be a good fit for TFC.

Send the TFC scouts to the Reading academy. Alex Pearce (central defender), Simon Church (striker), James Henry (right winger) would all be great additions to TFC.

BTW, RFC have been wearing those so called Royal blue and white fake hoops since 1871.

The Bosko Balaban theory is gone.

He signed to Greece Panoinons or however you spell it.

I have said this before and i will say this again...I just have this feeling about panucci coming to TFC..just a feeling, something tells me Mo wants to add some Italian flare(not Lombardo) to the line up.

I would be thrilled though if we could get Di Vaio!!! I would settle for Simone Inzaghi though...not his brother, but still a good striker.

just my 2 cents.

I was just thinking about Vassell the other day.. He's on in age but still has wheels. Not an incredible strike rate in the epl, but I'm sure he could do the business here.

There are many free agent strikers who we could sign on a non DP salary.

There's a ton on my fairly large list of players I've tried over the last year to scout info on, but it's at home, Yo, so you get to wait at least two hours before mocking it.

He's with a club so there's no way we could afford him.

Your right, he may be 36, but would anchor this team on D and help out a ton!! Heck, I've watched him this year and he could play atleast 3-4 more years easy.

Hey, look at Maldini...could still play if he wanted!

Kleber Boas has been at Santos since 2007, so he might well be available on a free and his scoring record in the latter of his career has been pretty ungodly:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kleber_Boas (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kleber_Boas)

This guy might/MIGHT be a cheap DP, i.e. $600,000 a year or so:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oleksandr_Kosyrin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oleksandr_Kosyrin)

Liedson Da Silva is out of contract at Sporting. He loves the club and probably wouldn't leave, but at least we could save the transfer fee:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Li%C3%A9dson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Li%C3%A9dson)

Well, he's not DP worthy but he'd do well in MLS: Danny North, Grimsby.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danny_North (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danny_North)

We just missed out on this guy, who would kill MLS (like, 20 a season, an older Montero) because he signed on a free for another egpytian team last month:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flavio_Amado (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flavio_Amado)

AS would this guy, Sergey Samodin, and he may be on a free this year ( if you count back, he signed in 2006):
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sergei_Samodin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sergei_Samodin)

This guy's a good gamble, given his phenomenal strike rate, albeit at international level and only one year of pro:Oleksiy Antonov.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oleksiy_Antonov (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oleksiy_Antonov)

This guy's had a goal-every-two-games record since converting to striker in the Ukrainian premier league, from midfield.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marko_Devic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marko_Devic)

This guy's probably a good MLS fit; He was Shevchenko's replacement at Kyiv.

And this guy, whom I recommended last year, has since signed on a free transfer with Sao Paolo.

Ah well. We could've given him a multimillion dollar retirement package, he could've given us 20 goals.

Oh Washington! We could've totally nabbed him when he was leaving Japan.
