Olivier Tebily. Every other player I didn't mind losing, but after watching Velez's crapulence yesterday, I can only dream of what a CB pairing Tebily and Serioux would have made

I wouldn't mind having Edson Buddle back as well. At least he can put the ball away more than Barrett and Vitti.

Tebily, Marshall, and Dunivant.

If we had those 3 minus Velez our backline could be, assuming Jimmy B moves to the bench or if starts Dunny first off the bench.

Serioux-Tebily-Marshall-Dunivant

Move Wynne to wing.

Let's NOT try putting Wynne on the wing again.

Opposing offenses would be pretty nervous running towards that backline LOL. But I still dream of a team of Jimmy Bs.

Frank Jonke!

or Conor Casey, since he is playing so well this year.

After reading over the thread, these are the players I'd like to have back (and starting):

Tebily, Marshall, Dunivant, Casey and Buddle.

Just Marshall.
I think he'd do even better with Serioux leading the way.

Here's the question: Which of these two teams wins, the team we have now, or the team we've let go:

Team we let go:
--------------Jon Busch-----------------
Mulrooney--Marshall--Tebily--Dunivant
------O'Brien--Nagamura--Robert--------
------Buddle---Casey----Eskandarian------

Team we have:
-----------Stefan Frei----------------
Wynne--Velez/Nana---Serioux---Brennan
-------Cronin----Robbo---Guevara-------
------Vitti-------DeRo-----Barrett

Even if you give us the nod in mid, it's tough to argue the d or the frontline are better with the guys we have now.

If getting rid of better players than the ones you have isn't a sign that a GM has lost the plot, I'm not sure what it.

Agreed.. I remember him being a one man show in Montreal last year. Also, I'm going to catch hell for this but I miss Colin Samuel. Sure he's fat and slow but he wasn't afraid to take anyone on head to head.

I miss a player that isn't afriad to shoot, and not just shoot, but get a powerful attempt on target.

haha.. that reminds me... somebody needs to make an alumni team of all the players we dumped who seem to have disappeared off the face of the earth.

Rosenlund, Asante, Reynolds, Canizalez, Lombardo, Guzman, Melo... guess they got that right

It's too bad that Nate Jaqua didn't stick around.

I wish we had back Conor Casey, Paulo Nagamura, Todd Dunivant and Edson Buddle. The last two were pivotal in helping LA beat us yesterday. It hurt that much more to watch Edson Buddle actually finish his chance.

Marshall and Dunivant, without a doubt. Conor Casey might have made that list had he played more than spot duty in his brief stint with us.

For once I agree on both counts. Tebily was as good defender and CB as we have had. Buddle would at the minimum have been a good option comming of the bench. I always though he was a decent striker.

Casey's form this year has been awesome, we could really use a primary goal scorer and I always had a soft spot for Pozi

Problem with most MLS strikers is that you can't count on their form to be consistent.

Did anyone expect 16 goals out of Buddle last year? Or Emilio to bunk last year?

Don't forget Hemming, who's doing very well with Charlston (and recently had a Canadian National Team call-up) see:

http://www.counton2.com/cbd/sports/other/article/battery_beats_austin_2-0_to_extend_unbeaten_streak_to_ten/30599/

"...and Tyler Hemming marked his return to the line-up with two assists after missing last weeks match while on-duty with the Canadian national team."

"Charleston started brightly and opened the scoring in only the 11th minute. Midfielder Tyler Hemming forced his way through the middle then slipped a pass forward to Darren Spicer. Spicer out-paced his defender and finished neatly at the near-post."

"Charleston sealed the win in the 66th minute as Matt Bobo scored his first goal for the Club. Tyler Hemming drove in a corner-kick and Bobo snapped a header under the cross-bar to make it 2-0. "

Tebily was a huge loss. When he played, he was a monster at the back. He played with confidence and that confidence was contagious.

If he'd managed to stay here for the season, we would have made the play-offs as some of those silly mistakes that costs us points simply would not have happened.

We did not, from my undestanding he moved on to a far superior league. Norway.

Yeah, he was a solid player both as a Full Back and as a Mid. Not spetacular, but simple solid play that we too often lack.

Tyronne Marshall....he has been missed ..but we need to find someone to replace him or make a deal with Seattle to get him back...a first rd pick would be worth the price.

Andy Welsh. He had heart, which is a rare commodity at this point. Also, I will never forget him pulling the cop off the fan that rumbled onto the field. Man, I liked little Andy Welsh.

+1 Poor kid - his premier flaw was an inability to cross a football on a non-football surface.
