BRETT CLARKSON (brett.clarkson@sunmedia.ca)
Toronto FC's diehard fans are threatening to turn against the team with this summer's much-anticipated visit to BMO Field by Real Madrid.
No sooner had TFC's front office finally made it official yesterday that the Spanish soccer powerhouse will play a friendly here Aug. 7, fans were crying foul over the fact the game won't be included in their season-ticket package.

Vancouver loss weighs heavy on Toronto FC
Eric Koreen
TORONTO -- Nobody associated with Toronto FC said it aloud, but nonetheless it was clear.
Perhaps winning the Nutrilite Canadian Championship was not quite as important as doing well in Major League Soccer.
But that did not make TFC's 2-0 loss in Vancouver on Tuesday - a result that put TFC's chances at winning the tournament perilously close to nil - any less devastating.

Toronto FC looks to rebound after ugly road swing
Match vs. Galaxy `could be a massive turning point in the season,' coach Cummins says
Daniel Girard
Toronto FC coach Chris Cummins publicly questioned his side's desire and work ethic. Some players privately pointed fingers at their teammates and said they had to be better.
It was a disastrous road trip – two losses, five goals allowed and none scored, one Canadian championship seemingly let slip away.

TFC still searching for consistency
Paul Attfield
Seven days ago, Toronto FC were hoping for the club's first piece of silverware. Now they're just scratching to find a silver lining.
Two humbling road defeats will do that to you, firstly at the hands of Houston Dynamo last Saturday, as Dwayne De Rosario's return to Texas saw the Reds played off the park in an embarrassing 3-0 reverse, and latterly, and far more crushing, against West Coast rivals the Vancouver Whitecaps, a 2-0 loss that, barring a miracle, mathematically ended Toronto's hopes of a Canadian Championship.

Galaxy versus Toronto preview
ESPN
Last week, Landon Donovan helped the Los Angeles Galaxy extend their unbeaten streak to nine by assisting on a late tying goal.
The Galaxy will have to find a way to keep that run going without Donovan, their leading scorer, Saturday against a Toronto FC team that will also be missing its top offensive threat.
Donovan and Toronto midfielder Amado Guevara will face each other Saturday night, but that will be in Chicago as the United States takes on Honduras in a World Cup qualifying match.

And while they shouldn't need it, if extra motivation is required they may find it in the stands, as today also marks the first return of former head coach John Carver, fit, healthy and back in town on vacation after resigning his position at the end of April.

Some very good press coverage of the fans displeasure over the RM fiasco. Hopefully some of the 18,000 or so people who are probably totally unaware of what has been happening this week will read these articles. Quick question, are most of these articles actually inside the printed newspapers or just on line ?
