MLS Scudetto

Not to jump the gun or anything, but if we win the league, that ugly MLS Scudetto has the friggin American flag on it. I would not want it on our jerseys at all. Do you think we'd have a Canadian version?

i think the scudetto is garbage, just give us the friggin star already. but that being said, i wouldn't mind the american flag on it. it would just rub in the fact that a Canadian team won their league.

It's a strange thing. At this point in the league history teams will be putting stars and leafs on them to mark wins but I personally think it a bit overstated. Just think of other leagues that mark stars for 5 wins, 10 wins, continental wins. In a league like ours with such parity these marks won't mean much.

If we go through with it though I'd love to see leaves instead of stars. Great touch!

Except MLS is no longer an American league. And with growing interest in Vancouver and Montreal, it's likely to get at least one more Canadian team. Consider that the NHL has far more American teams than Canadian ones and is headquartered in New York, but is cool with Edmonton and Calgary putting the flag of Alberta on their jerseys.

Those leagues are like 100 years older. There would be two many single stars for that reason.

And as for parity, considering no other club has 4 stars and only two have 2 stars I don't think this is an issue.

I think a neutral patch of some sort is very much needed. If other Americans get pissy about it, too fucking bad. If they want MLS to survive, they need the Canadian teams like us and eventually Montreal and Vancouver. Canada should be recognized as well. If/when we win the league this year, switch to something neutral. Do a variation of a half stars and stripes and half maple leaf as I like that idea. If the other U.S. clubs get mad, then do a star. I just want us to make other countries happy with us again instead of pissing everyone off like has become the usual since 2000
