TFC can't stop Houston Dynamo
Red hot Dynamo spoil De Ro's return

HOUSTON -- On paper, Toronto FC's visit to face the Houston Dynamo looked like it could be a very competitive game. Toronto FC were coming off a 3-1 win against New England last week and had lost just once in their last six games. Houston entered riding a six-game unbeaten streak, with wins in four of those six games.
Looks, however, can often be quite deceiving.
Houston jumped on Toronto FC early, getting three goals in a five-minute span of the first half and then sitting back the rest of the game, dominating the Reds in a 3-0 defeat.

Jackson's goal lifts Canada

LARNACA, Cyprus -- Simeon Jackson celebrated his first career senior cap with a second-half goal yesterday to give Canada a 1-0 win over Cyprus in an international friendly.
Jackson picked up a pass at the top of the box from a quickly taken free kick that seemed to catch the Cypriot defence off-guard. The 22-year-old striker, who plays for English club Gillingham, fired the ball past goalkeeper Antonis Georgallides in the 53rd minute.

Simeon Jackson scored in the second half to give Canada a 1-0 victory over Cyprus in an international friendly on Saturday.
Josh Simpson played a quick free kick to Jackson at the top of the Cypriot box, and he fired a shot past keeper Antonis Georgallides and into the far corner.
"It's a great confidence boost for me to get my first cap and a goal as well," Jackson said after the match. "Now I'm looking forward to the Gold Cup."

The MLS has seen a ridiculous number of games end in draws so far this season.

Chris Cummins said. "We are disappointed. We didn't play particularly well today, and I thought Houston did."

^^Understatement of the year....brutal.

I wonder if the 3-goals in 4-minutes is an MLS record...?

Reading all these articles is depressing... So...

My look on the bright side thought of the day... At least we lost to a Western Conference team, so we didn't give any points to an East team in the playoff race...

Ok, that didn't make me feel any better... :(

It would be nice if Dallas somehow nabbed three points from Chicago today.

but isn't the top team in each conference qualify then its the next best six teams? So giving points away to a western team doesn't help us.

sorta.. it's top 2 in each conference that qualify, then they go with the next best 4 records.

so we gotta be careful what we wish for. I mean, if Colorado plays Columbus, most would say "go Colorado! beat those cunts!" but Colorado could be one of the next best 4 at season's end. I guess ties are the best to hope for.

It's sad to see that not one paper bothers to cover us on the road. Worse, not one bothers to hire a local stringer to cover road games - well the Star did a couple of times - and present added details concerning local perspectives that we'd all like to read about.

Write your local sports editors and tell them you're not happy with this.

We looked worse than a Sunday league team last night. Cummins ought to be furious. I certainly am.

I thought we looked bad against Chicago. We were complete shit last night. I'm not sure if I've seen a worse game since season one.

Rob and I were trying to remember when we've looked worse. We couldn't come up with an answer other than "perhaps 5 minutes ago".

So we're up against LA next week. They have one win, one loss, and 9 draw. We've got 4 wins, 4 draws and 4 losses. Looks like a draw then.

LA's past five games have ended in a draw, so another one wouldn't come as a surprise.

I stayed away from this website and all news until I watched the game Sunday morning.

Oh lord I wish I hadn't PVR'd that debacle. They didn't show up at all.
