I got this thread idea from the thread about the Champions League Final and about some ppl thought we could not duplicate or do better than the 2000 fans going to watch the Trillium Cup in Columbus.

Question to the Red Patch Faithful

How far would you go to see the reds win the MLS Cup??

How many fellow supporters do you think would make the same trip???

I think for the first cup there isnt a place in the us that i wouldnt travel to watch the first MLS Cup. Including San Jose, Seattle(this yr boys) , Home Depot center(Carson)

now if we are talking about the second or third cup in team history i think i wouldnt wanna go too much farther than the east coast, New England, NY, Phi, DC , Col

Where ever its played.....

yeah, that's pretty much it.

there's no way it would be in New Zealand, but if for some strange reason it was..... we'd be there.

No matter where it is, if it's outside of Toronto, I don't know if we'll ever get as many as New England brought to DC in 2007.

Thanks to the relative closeness, and to Kraft for paying their way down out of his own pocket. ML$E sure won't do that...

05-29-2009, 12:27 PM
how many did New England bring to DC in 2007?

If TFC can get 2000 to Columbus for the opening game of the season, TFC can get much more than that for an MLS Cup within a similar driving distance.
If it's in seattle or LA, might be more difficult to maximize the crowd.
But if TFC were playing in the MLS Cup at the new NY stadium, with Porter Airlines nearby and not a bad drive for the busers, it could be huge.

It will be in Seattle this year.

It's due to be in TO sometime before 2012 apparently -- still, off topic. I would go to wherever it is played, as well.

I would watch TFC in the Club World Cup anywhere in the world...it would be a small sacrifice to watch them anywhere in North American win the league cup!

barca got the Treble...if an MLS team gets Supporters Shield, MLS Cup and Champions League what is it called?
Also i suppose US teams can get the US Open cup and Superliga as well as the SS and MLS Cup.

The Trinity sounds nice to me

I like that one ive always wanted to make
"If I had two lives i'd give them both to you"

And to answer the question, wherever this takes place i would go its in the U.S the furthest it can be is L.A. The real question is would anyone be joining me on my trip to watch the mighty reds in Japan or something for the Club world cup? Honestly i would spend every last cent in my bank account if it went watching the boys win the club world cup.

I'd be there for the first MLS cup the first time around. Otherwise I'd be more interested in traveling for CONCACAF games.
