Week in and week out, there are certain names that pick themselves when head coach Chris Cummins fills out his Toronto FC team sheet. Injury absences aside, Dwayne De Rosario, Amado Guevara and Carl Robinson are never likely to find themselves on the bench at kickoff, and statistics certainly show why.
Maybe it's time to add Daniele Salvatore Dichio to that list.

Wynne makes U.S. roster
CHICAGO — The Associated Press,
Landon Donovan, Clint Dempsey and Jozy Altidore headed a 24-man roster announced Sunday to train for the United States before World Cup qualifiers next month against Costa Rica and Honduras.
The U.S. team will be at nearly full strength for the games. Right back Steve Cherundolo is sidelined following hip surgery last month and forward Eddie Johnson was bypassed by coach Bob Bradley.

This will no doubt be reinforced Monday, when the Canadian women's soccer team plays the United States in Toronto at BMO Field, in a game that will prove once again that the sport has no place being played on artificial turf. Two weeks ago, TFC star Dwayne De Rosario told CBC TV that “the turf's got to go,” and that he's “sick of it.” Me too. It's not just the potential for injury; it's the impact it has on a player's ability to control the ball. Soccer on fake turf is a bastardization.

Teammates rooting for their leader to find net against U.S. tonight

Canada's most prolific soccer scorer is on the verge of another milestone.
Christine Sinclair heads into tonight's home game against the defending Olympic champion United States one short of 100 goals in an outstanding international career that began as a teenager.
"I'm trying not to put pressure on myself," the 25-year-old Sinclair said of goal No.100. "But obviously it would be very sweet to have it happen here in Toronto, and against the Americans."
