Brennan sees good base to build on
TFC Captain expects the goals to start flowing

Toronto FC captain Jim Brennan believes the team is shaping up well a third of the way into the season. The Reds are two points off the top of the Eastern Standings after ten games, and Brennan feels they are positioned well for a playoff push.

"I think we are playing well and coming together as a team," said Brennan. "We're playing good attacking football and creating chances. Obviously we would like to be scoring more goals but at least we are creating the opportunities and it won't be long now until we end up sticking four or five past a team. It's not for lack of trying because the strikers are working very hard to get in the box and get into the right situations."

Whitecaps dump Impact in Canadian championship

The Vancouver Whitecaps wasted little time enforcing their will over the Montreal Impact.
The Whitecaps used a pair of first-half goals to dispose of the Impact 2-0 on Wednesday night at Montreal's Saputo Stadium, taking the third round-robin game of the Canadian club championship.
Marcus Haber and Charles Gbeke supplied all the offence Vancouver needed.
Toronto FC (2-0-0) still leads the standings with six points, three ahead of the Whitecaps (1-1-0).

That's right. Only a wider margin of victory would have made it worse. But if Montreal can win in Vancouver (preferably by a score 1-0 or 2-0), then TFC will have gotten the second best optimal result from these two matches (the first being two draws of course).

Yes, but if Vancouver win both games against Montreal it's going to look like the USL teams are taking turns to try and bring down the MLS team.

I don't know, I don't think anyone would think that. At least, I wouldn't - I'd be confident in asserting that no team is doing the other a favour. They are rivals after all.

The conspiracy theories are interesting but moot.
If TFC wins their games they need not worry.

hey, TFC got a win and a tie (a tie that coulda been a win) on the road last year in Montreal and Vancouver. let's go for the win!

the good thing is we'll know where we stand before heading out to those cities.

We have 1 spot free. If we're not going to get a solid CB or a DP striker, then I'd favour getting Poz back, the ultimate utility player.

However, I think he's probably just here to keep in shape.

I wish I had of read this sooner, I would have gone to the practice place.

Does anyone know a pattern of when they train in Oakville?
Is it always at the indoor place?
